How are you healing yourself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually?

The intensity of becoming conscious of our imperfections is still quite strong. We have become aware of so much over the last month. What will you do with your new awareness? Self-hate or self-love? Hate others or love others?

Sun, Mercury retrograde, Venus and Jupiter are all in Virgo. The Evolutionary Astrology mantra for Virgo is: I discern with intuitive wholeness. Mars retro and Uranus retro are in Pisces, the polarity of Virgo. Pluto has just turned stationary direct in Sagittarius last week. Sag squares both Virgo and Pisces.

Here we are, living through the ending of this patriarchal Piscean Age, with this strong activation of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) over the next year. Look at the souls on this planet caught up in the games of victimization and victorization. Lesser-evolved souls heap more violence and revenge upon others, as if more and more war will bring peace.

We are approaching the six-month mark since the United States invaded Iraq. The U.S. government is spending about $4 billion per month on activities to convince another country with different cultures and religions that the American way of life is the only way. It looks like a historical repetition of righteous Romans imposing their values and desires on other cultures with no regard for anyone else.

Here we are again, at the ending of a zodiacal age, with yet another opportunity to “wake up”. What if we spent $4 billion a month in the U.S. on education, teaching our children tolerance and compassion for those who are different from them? What if the U.S. spent $4 billion a month worldwide helping other countries teach unity in diversity?

When the education budgets of countries match their war budgets, there will be peace on earth. The mutable signs relate to education, spirituality, and truth versus lies. Visualize all souls waking up to the lies of war.

The shakeup of planetary aspects during this summer and fall allows us to face our own personal lies and discern where we get to take the next step in walking our new truths. May you be successful.

We are also facing the choice of criticizing and beating ourselves up, or learning to be nurturing and loving to ourselves on our journeys. Virgo energy is transitional energy. To the degree we are caught up in patriarchal narrow standards of right and wrong conduct, then we are continually criticizing ourselves from lifetimes of unconscious conditioning of guilt.

This is exactly what we can wakeup to and transition away from. How loving can you be to yourself when you repeat the same compulsive behavior again? Natural Virgo energy teaches us to try again and again, however many times we must forgive ourselves and start over. Perfection is a process.

Our Virgo Sun makes a waxing sextile to Saturn on September 3 at 10/11 degrees Virgo-Cancer. What great opportunity to make effort in creating a new reality that is loving and nurturing to both ourselves and others. What pushes your emotional security buttons?

Saturn in Cancer is asking that we reach for new levels of emotional self-reliance. So, the areas where we are emotionally insecure will be revealed into consciousness (Saturn). With Sun in Virgo, we can either project blame and responsibility on to others, or we can try a new way of taking care of our own emotional needs that others are reflecting back to us.

The next day on September 4, Saturn makes the first of three waxing inconjuncts to Neptune at 10/11 degrees Cancer-Aquarius. This aspect initiates a yod formation between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune for the next year, summer 2003 through summer 2004.

A yod formation happens when two planets are sextile (60 degrees) to each other, in this case Jupiter and Saturn, and both of them make inconjuncts (or quincunxes, 150 degrees) to a third planet, in this case Neptune. Please see below for the dates and degrees of the nine aspects these three planets will make to each other over the next year.

The yod formation has been called the “finger of god” aspect. Two planets are equal distance (approximately, within orb of degree) away from, or pointing to, a third planet. In this case, Jupiter and Saturn point to Neptune, a planetary archetype that relates to God/Goddess in many ways.

In essence, this yod formation is asking us to search for healing in relationships (Jupiter in Virgo) based upon emotional self-reliance in our families and communities (Saturn in Cancer) that point to, and stem from, a spiritual philosophy that we are all one, or unity in diversity (Neptune in Aquarius).

Neptune has been powerful over the last few years, as it as been transiting over its own south node (past) in the natal charts of most souls on the planet at this time. In other words, we all have the opportunity to remember our spiritual connections from the past, when we lived in harmony with natural spiritual laws and principles.

Somehow, many of us are realizing (remembering) that our best chances of survival and prosperity will happen when we come together as one, versus fighting against each other. And, when we live in harmony with nature and its resources versus dominating other species and ignoring their needs.

Jupiter and Saturn represent energy coming together as a collective. They are the social planets. When they interact with the outer planets in the last signs of the zodiac, the messages are about the collective and how we choose to evolve and grow in our cultures, countries and as a species.

As Saturn in Cancer makes three waxing inconjuncts to Neptune in Aquarius, our social structures must be in balance with natural laws. Saturn in Cancer brings out the need for nationalism, and many times protectionism, in all countries and cultures. The unity in diversity (theme of Neptune in Aquarius and the coming Aquarian Age) is the bottom line reference point for long-term survival.

Inward adjustment and self-reflection are lessons of waxing inconjuncts, and today any one country is facing how they will relate to other countries in such a way so that all countries may have a sense of safety on the planet.

Where are you at individually with your inner adjustments to fit within your own community? Saturn in Cancer waxing inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius is an opportunity to create an inner authority that aligns with real spiritual values and natural laws. Then we will survive through any changes presented in this fast changing insecure world. How do you wish to be active in your community to create a safer world? Healing the planet starts with our own individual responsibility.

Venus makes a waning square to Pluto on September 5 at 17/18 degrees Virgo-Sagittarius, another one of those major times to realize self-love and self-reliance. This aspect can bring about some crisis in relationships if there is too much co-dependency.

Make every effort to be gentle and healing with yourself. This is a time period to release old love patterns, and maybe relationships, that no longer work. However, we may find ourselves compulsively repeating things again to become conscious enough of the pattern. Let go and love yourself. Search for the new love patterns you want to create. Ask for truth in relationships to be revealed.

Mars retrograde makes the second of three oppositions to Jupiter on September 7 at 2/3 degrees Pisces-Virgo. More clarity on these desires of ours is coming through. How much difference is there between what you want and what you actually have? Can you recognize your separating desires (from the Ultimate Source)? What is real for you to create at this time in your life? Can you use your resources as tools to help you on your next step Home?

This Mars retro cycle is all about becoming conscious of any separating desires that no longer serve us. The first Mars-Jupiter opposition happened back in May in Leo-Aquarius and it was a call for more objectivity. There was a tendency to forge ahead with what we wanted anyway.

Now Jupiter in Virgo insists we reconsider things, and with opposing Mars in Pisces, whatever is not real just will not go forward no matter how much we try to push it. So, how and where can you move forward now? What is the reality in front of you today? Where have your own games been revealed to you?

Mercury retro makes a conjunction to Venus at 20/21 degrees Virgo on September 7/8. Again, this can be a time of tearing things apart, or looking for ways to heal. What type of communications is going on in your relationships? Is there a way to say something in a more loving, healing tone that gets the same message across?

There is a need to be real, and there is a need to figure out how to improve upon things. The issue is when we take on an aura of righteousness that makes others seem lesser than. How can you bring love into any situation so the next step of growth can occur more naturally?

Next the Sun makes a waning square to Pluto at 17/18 degrees Virgo-Sag. Closely following Venus, the Sun now asks us to let go of old egoic personality that no longer matches our beliefs. Self-improvement is this solar month’s theme. Where do you compulsively repeat old patterns of behavior that you are becoming conscious enough of to recognize, and now release?

The patriarchal conditioning over the last 5,000 plus years has led us to believe that there is a perfect god out there judging us and our imperfections. Well why would someone perfect create this mess? The Universal Source is an Evolving Force, and we are all a divine spark on the path/process to perfection.

We will get there by unconditionally loving ourselves and from that foundation, taking the next step in self-improvement. Sun waning square Pluto points out what no longer works for our souls, and via Virgo-Sag, help us figure out what does work. Step-by-step, lesson by lesson, we are evolving our souls. Another level of truth is being revealed.

Next the Full Moon of Pisces happens on September 10 at 17/18 degrees Virgo-Pisces. The annual time to realign our dreams with reality. This Full Moon will bring emotional sensitivity to the Mars and Uranus retro cycles in Pisces. Here again we will be asked to become conscious of whatever is below the surface.

Make an effort to touch into your deepest desires. What is coming up for you at this time? Are you living your desires? If not, what needs changing? For a few days, the Moon is activating the mutable grand cross again, and change is necessary somewhere, everywhere.

Any emotional upsets are the tools that get us in touch with what is important for us. Can you unconditionally love yourself as you make new realizations about yourself?

That same day, on September 10, Mercury retrograde makes its inferior conjunction with the Sun at 17/18 degrees Virgo. This is the highlight of the Mercury retro cycle, and the time for answers. Our minds just will not stop, mentally reassessing every thing. How many conversations can we have on the issues concerning us?

Remember that the theme is healing, and taking the next step in healing ourselves. At this time of the month, we can each receive lots of ideas and emotional responses on how to take care of ourselves better. And remember we do not heal others, we just help them heal themselves. And they have choice whether or not they want to heal.

Utilize those strong mental abilities the middle of this month to discern what is best for you on your path to remerge with God/Goddess. If you get caught up in mental whirlwinds, then pay attention to your emotions and dream world messages. The bigger the issue, the bigger the messages for solution will be. Do you have the courage to listen instead of ignoring or rationalizing your messages?

The next day, on September 11, Mercury retro makes the second of three waning squares to Pluto at 17/18 degrees Virgo-Sag. Just to make sure we let go of obsessive thoughts that do not serve us, we get three chances to become aware of what holds us back mentally. Will you continue to be the victim, or realize that the universe responds to however we are energizing our lives? Can you envision your life to be different?

What mental improvements can you make at this time? Do you self-hate or self-love? How gentle can you be with yourself?

Uranus retrogrades back into Aquarius for the last time during the next 80-plus years on September 14. It will be in Aquarius until it moves back into Pisces on December 30. What final messages can Uranus bring over the next few months in the sign of its own rulership?

Uranus represents the individuated unconsciousness in Evolutionary Astrology. It contains the past in all its detail, everything we try to suppress in the present, and blueprints of the future. It can get confusing trying to sort out all those messages popping up into consciousness. Pay attention to the element of repetition. Uranus will keep repeating things until you figure it out.

The middle of September is turning into a final major ah haa……becoming even more conscious of everything we have been figuring out this summer. Ask and ask Uranus for clarity. In Aquarius, it is all about de-conditioning from whatever binds us. Ask for objectivity. May you become free in every way you desire. May you understand the next step in getting there.

Uranus in Aquarius can be enlightenment for those who search for it. What else do you need to know?

Venus leads the way into Libra on September 15 for a three-plus week journey. Venus is moving into the sign of one of its rulerships. The annual rite of passage into relationships is beginning. Venus loves Libra and socializing and conversation.

Venus in Libra is in love with love. There will be some blending with Virgo energy here to see if our relationships are healing for us or not. Venus has lessons in Libra to achieve equality of giving and receiving and standing up to situations when it is anything less.

Libra is also where planets learn the psychology of listening. Venus gets to make the effort to really listen to what others are saying in the search for healing with love. Where is that fine line of balance, equally giving and receiving, each responsible for ourselves as we interact with others?

Mercury goes stationary direct on September 20 at 12/13 degrees Virgo. Mercury is in the sign of one of its rulerships as well. The analytical, figure out all the details side. Patriarchal conditioning can make Mercury retrograde in Virgo a cycle of mental nitpicking, criticizing and looking at the cup half-empty syndrome.

Utilizing a Mercury retrograde cycle with natural spiritual laws means seeing the cup half-full and figuring out how to fill it overflowing. It means to see everything from a point of “How can we make it better?” and “Where can we go from here?”

This Mercury retro has helped us see where we are imperfect. The greatest thing we can do here is love ourselves enough to take the next step to self-improvement. The messages are coming through strong now. What efforts can you make in loving yourself? Can you mentally support yourself as you do the best you can do?

Sun enters Libra on September 23, initiating the Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. The Evolutionary Astrology mantra for Libra is: I balance a diversity of relationships with my own initiative. This is the transition point from six months of solar focus on self to six months of solar focus on others.

We have been getting the messages from Virgo on self-improvement. Now we take it out to the world and really practice evolving and growing with others in our lives as well. We tend to think of Libra as already balanced. In reality, Libra is where we learn balance.

In Virgo, others seemed more all knowing and powerful than we are. Now, in Libra, we begin to realize we are equal to anyone, and the dance to actually give and receive as equals has begun. What is coming up for you in relationships at this time?

Venus makes a waning trine to Neptune retrograde on September 23/24 at 10/11 degrees Libra-Aquarius. Loving the world is possible here, and having the world love us in return.

The trines just harmonize whatever is happening, positive or negative. Make an effort to see if you are just hearing what you want to hear from the world. Listen as carefully as you can. Venus-Neptune can be ultimate love or an ultimate con-job. Ask for truth to be revealed. Make every effort to be in truth yourself and that is what will come back to you.

Venus makes a waxing square to Saturn on September 25 at 12/13 degrees Libra-Cancer. This can help Venus-Neptune as love gets a dose of reality. Venus in Libra wants to be everything to everyone. Saturn in Cancer wants security, security and more security. Here is the test to see if we can balance those love needs of others.

Are we secure enough in our own self-love that we can reach out and truly help others if they need help? Are we self-responsible enough to help others help themselves without taking on responsibilities that do not belong to us? Equal giving and receiving can be harder to see when the emotions get involved.

The Full Moon of Aries is September 25 at 2/3 degrees Libra-Aries, an annual time to balance ourselves with others. The energy is moving more and more into relationships. Balance comes in messages about ourselves in the middle of all those commitments.

We have a need to grow alone by ourselves, and a need to grow through relationships. Everyone gets to balance time alone and time with others. How are your relationship patterns evolving this fall with all that has been made known from the summer?

Are you conscious of love patterns that you would like to change? Are there work relationships that need adjustments? All relationships get to evolve through Sun in Libra, and the Full Moon of Aries will let us know what our own needs in relationships are.

Mars finally goes stationary direct on September 27 at 0 degrees Pisces. Two months later the illusions have been dissolved. What was unconscious is now conscious. We have a much better idea on what our desires really are.

The ultimate Mars retrograde is finding our way Home, back to God/Goddess. Now we have a path illuminated again, and we are on our way. New returning desires are rising.

What desires are still with you at the end of this “review of our desires” cycle? Have they passed the reality test? What is moving forward in your life now?

Any upsets and disappointments at this time are serving to remind you what desires still need realignment. Let go of resistance, as God/Goddess will have the final word anyway.

Mars gets to start all over again at 0 degrees Pisces. The independent streak can realize that together we can get where we are going much easier and faster. Mars in Pisces can now understand what unconditional love is all about. Mars will now move through Pisces with an understanding of the interconnectedness of everything. It will then make much better initiations when it moves into Aries on December 16.

Mercury makes a third and final waning square to Pluto on September 28 at 17/18 degrees Virgo-Sagittarius. Search for the largest picture possible and see how you fit in. It is time to let go of limited viewpoints. Be as truthful as you can. Be gentle with yourself as you realize old beliefs that no longer work, yet are held onto for security reasons.

Finally Venus makes a waning sextile to Pluto on September 29 at 17/18 degrees Libra-Sagittarius. As the inner planets reach the closing phases with Pluto, we search for meaning on a deep soul level. What makes for the healthiest relationships? How can we reach the deepest levels of self-reliance? What is the next step in understanding natural laws?

Most of this month has been a concentration of opportunity to be gentle and nurturing to ourselves, or punishing and critical. What is your choice?

Remember, it is through repeated attempts, again and again, that we break free from old patriarchal patterns. Pick yourself up and try again, however many times it takes until you see the patterns changing. The deep soul issues we all work with took lifetimes to acquire. Changing those patterns usually does not happen overnight. However, change, evolution, is always taking place. God/Goddess will allow us as much time as we need to get where we desire to go.
