The solar month of Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21/22) could easily start out with a big bang as Uranus turns stationary direct in a couple days. Whatever information has been building to a crescendo comes rushing to the surface, exploding into our consciousness. As Sagittarius represents the archetype of universal truths on the broadest levels, this could be the theme in our lives, both personally and collectively over the next month.

The Evolutionary Astrology mantra for Sagittarius is: I understand the relativity of truth with others. There are many examples in the world of someone claiming to have the truth on a particular subject with another person also claiming to have the upper hand from the opposite or a different perspective. Both may be wrong, both may be right, or each of them may have a piece of the truth on any given subject.

Sagittarius teaches us the concept of expanding our horizons to broader and broader understandings of the universe. Anything that limits our cosmological perspective from deepening is exposed by the archetype of Gemini, the polarity of Sagittarius. Gemini goes for the minute physical details while Sag wants the abstract metaphysical concepts. Together, a limitation or lie is exposed in order to evolve beyond it. Our risk is rabidly defending any limitations that keep us stuck in false securities.

Sagittarius, a fire sign, wants to explore and create. Yet it stops when a sense of insecurity comes up. All souls are raised with conditioning – social and cultural, parental, religious and spiritual, economical and geographical, etc. When we are then exposed to a different way of looking at things, we have a tendency to defend and argue for the perspective that has given us security up to this point. It takes courage for any soul to question its beliefs and conditionings.

Yet this is the annual lesson of Sun in Sag – to quest for universal laws and principles, even at the expense of security. As Pluto has worked its slow passage through Sagittarius (1995-2008) these lessons have been magnified. Witness the religious strife all across the world, going to war to prove our viewpoint is the right one. This is really the last time for Sun and Pluto (the soul – individually and collectively) to meet for a month in Sag for the next 248 years. Enter Uranus turning stationary direct, and the messages are extremely loud. Will you listen?

What are the lies your own soul is clinging to in order to feel safe and secure? What new truths are emerging into your own consciousness? How is your own mind like expanding ripples in a pond?

Sagittarius is also the archetype of intuition or our sixth sense – knowing something without conscious reasoning. It is our own soul tapping into the larger forces within the universe. When our security is too caught up in certain outcomes to life situations, then our intuition and Sag visions focus along those lines as well. The disappointments (Uranus direct in Pisces) can be extremely hurtful when any “meant to be” experience fails to manifest from our personal visions.

Universal laws and principles exist with or without our participation. It is up to each of us to evolve to the point that our own intuition can tap into timeless truths and natural laws, versus whatever we personally believe must be real. Sagittarius, and its ruler Jupiter, will take away when necessary and expose the lies. True Sagittarian questing for cosmological understandings must begin with a questioning, and remain open to the answers that come, especially those messages that threaten our sense of security.

November 24 - Uranus turns stationary direct on November 24 at 14/15 degrees Pisces. This completes its annual retrograde cycle that started June 23 at 18/19 degrees Pisces. Uranus takes approximately seven years to transit a sign of the zodiac – 2003 to 2010 through Pisces. Uranus is also completing a cycle through the zodiac (84 years) that started with its entry into Aries in 1927. Every time Uranus goes forward again (stationary direct), the wakeup calls intensify.

The last time Uranus was in Pisces (1919 – 1927) we had the “Roaring Twenties” and the Prohibition of alcohol. The creation of financial credit started then. Quantum physics was the buzz word through Albert Einstein, Neils Bohr and Max Planck. Famous writers were F. Scott Fitzgerald, Virginia Wolff, Ernest Hemingway, Agatha Christie and H.G. Wells. The Ku Klux Klan had its first major decade of growth. John T. Scopes went on trial for violating the Tennessee law prohibiting the teaching of evolution – the famous Monkey Trial. He was convicted and then set free on a technicality. In many ways, it was the best of times and the worst of times. Remind you of today?

Uranus in Pisces attempts to reveal everything and dissolve our precious boundaries between consciousness and unconsciousness. The reaction can be burying our head in the sand even further. Reality is too much. Where is the escape hatch?

This is a big solar month for exposing truth. This time around Uranus in Pisces (and Neptune in Aquarius) have the collective western world discovering that “consciousness creates matter.” Our beliefs, our thoughts and our emotions create our physical world, both positive and negative. There are no more excuses. We are each responsible for everything in our lives. Therefore, we each have the ultimate freedom to change our world. Add on astrology and we have the leading edge to timing the manifestations of consciousness.

Where is your consciousness bombarded with repeated messages – past, present and future? Pay attention to the messages in your head, and make your best effort to face reality. What do you not like in your life? How can you change your beliefs, thoughts and emotions around any subject?

Be careful of victimization stories and judgments. Uranus will always give you repeated messages and hints about the next lesson coming up. It is your own soul’s depth attempting to make you conscious of the next steps in liberating your soul. No Piscean escapes, face the realities on your own horizon. The themes could easily revolve around evolutionary leaps of growth in your belief system.

November 24 - The Full Moon of Gemini is November 24 at 2 degrees Sagittarius-Gemini. We may find this Thanksgiving weekend to be both emotional and surprising with Uranus direct on the same day as a Full Moon. Flexibility might be a good attitude as the truth may be different than what we thought it would be around family, especially with Mars freshly retrograde in Cancer (November 15).

This is the annual Full Moon to expand consciousness around our beliefs, and others may be only too happy to point out our weak links. Breathe deeply and listen. Universal truths only set you free. The more we evolve in consciousness the less we can be threatened. We can understand a limited viewpoint and see beyond it. The Moon in Gemini can help us find the words to express what we emotionally know on deeper levels so that we may be heard. We can agree to disagree if necessary.

When Sag intuits larger understandings, it must find the words to convey what it senses. If the arguments take place, make another communication attempt when everyone calms down. Inspiration and common ground may follow the eruptions. Uranus desires to dissolve the old boundaries that no longer serve us. This can be a time for family healings.

November 24 - Mercury makes a waning square to Neptune on November 24 as well at 19/20 degrees Scorpio-Aquarius. The ah ha’s just keep coming through, and any disillusions revealed can actually help us get to the truth of the matter. Mercury needs to be direct and honest – another theme for this month – and honor its intuitive hits.

There could be some type of crisis over whom or what to believe. Mercury in Scorpio could add to the emotional intensity while Neptune in Aquarius joins Uranus in detachment, regardless of how anyone’s world may be falling apart. If your world is crashing inward then there is something you have not been paying attention to – like your own inner guidance system.

Ask for the inspiration to take your own cosmological understandings to the next level. Mental or emotional stubbornness are not an asset at this time, surrendering and asking questions will bring relief. It might help to talk to people who have no vested interest in the outcome of your dilemmas for objective feedback. Can you listen objectively? If so, then inspiration would be tremendous.

November 26 - Venus makes a waning trine to Neptune on November 26 at 19/20 degrees Libra-Aquarius. These are the planets of love in social signs in a harmonious setting (aspect). Make every effort to remain in truth as best as you know it. This is the relationship time of year and the risk is to believe the fantasy is real. Put your feet on the ground.

This aspect could bring clear communications and a nice time for those who have been searching for relating honesty. If you make an effort to be honest, rather than just stating what others want to hear, then this honesty will come back to you. Even if the aftermath of last week’s aspects is unsettling, truth allows you to get real and make decisions based upon that.

This is relief in the long-run. Game-playing in relationships takes a lot of effort. Truth is simple and feels good. Healthy, self-reliant relating patterns take less work. It leaves us feeling better with more time to be creative in life, as well as living and loving and receiving it in return.

November 30 - The Sun makes a waxing square to Saturn on November 30 at 8/9 degrees Sagittarius-Virgo. Saturn is slowing down, and nearing the point of its stationary retrograde later this solar month on December 19. This aspect is demanding new realities from our evolving perspectives.

We may have excitement from our deepening viewpoints and desire to burst forward. Yet Saturn questions all the possibilities and has trouble figuring out the “right way.” Go with the option that seems the most realistic. Perhaps you have a growing awareness of how your health is affected by diet, exercise and rest. Make your changes one at a time and stick with the new plan. Once you have accomplished a new routine in one area, then you can add on in the next area.

Saturn in Virgo can go into overwhelm when there seems to be too many details to keep track of. Break things down into shorter projects so that you can feel a sense of satisfaction at what you are achieving, detail-by-detail. Milk the energy of what you have done, as you minimize the energy of too much to do.

December 1 - Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 1 for the next three weeks, until December 20. Mercury is in the opposite sign of one of its rulerships – Gemini. However, the energy of fiery Sag is Ok as Mercury joins the intuitiveness of the Sun for the rest of the solar month. Mercury can help with finding the right words to be heard.

There is a need to be honest and to the point. Sag energy can get quite veracious and full of exaggerations, which can end up sounding like a lie again. Stick to the facts please. Sagittarius can be the salesperson of the zodiac, and when there is too much enthusiasm it comes off like a used car or snake oil pitch. Just stick to the truth Mercury. Let the message speak for itself. Let those listening create their own excitement from what is said.

Mercury in Sag needs to inspire not convert. This is a time of the year when we want everyone to be as excited as we are about some new belief system or healing modality. Yes, we may know that XYZ knowledge would help someone else feel better. However, it works best when others want our advice. Can you intuit when to speak and when to stop, or not even start? It is Ok, others will attract the information when they are ready to hear it. Let go of the control.

December 2 - Venus makes a waning sextile to Jupiter on December 2 at 26/27 degrees Libra-Sagittarius. Venus now finishes up the inner planetary connection to Jupiter and Pluto. Here Venus can receive yet again more information about relationships and how to make things work. This is a nice social aspect so energize it both ways – speak and listen.

Jupiter is finishing up its year-long transit through its own sign. As it moves pass the tropical zodiacal degrees aligned with the center of our Milky Way Galaxy, we could receive broader understandings and perspectives. Venus in one of its signs of rulership will translate this into relationship material. This is a nice time to ponder what old relating patterns no longer work in your life and let go.

It is also a nice aspect for deepening the spiritual purpose or connection to any relationship. The real meaning of soul mates is to help each person spiritually evolve even if that means the famous Y in the road – to love someone unconditionally with no relationship “forever” guarantees. Pay attention to any subtle yet deep messages coming through around your relationships.

December 3 - Venus makes a waning sextile to Pluto on December 3 at 28/29 degrees Libra-Sagittarius. Now we almost repeat the same theme of Venus-Jupiter with Venus and Pluto. Nice social energy, yet deeper themes of spiritual growth and honesty.

Whereas Jupiter can let go easier, Pluto may get self-righteous and manipulative. Be careful of anyone stating they know what is best for you. It could be nothing more then a control game to make them feel more secure. Healthy, self-reliant souls give you the freedom to make your mistakes in order to learn. They will easily give advice when asked, yet not force it upon you.

Venus and Pluto are both meant to reach deeper levels of self-reliance through this energy exchange. It can only happen with honesty and straightforwardness. However, each party to any relationship will receive what they have put into it. In other words, if you have been honest then that is what will come back to you even when the other person plays games and lies. Walk your talk as best as you can and stick to what is fair, regardless of what another person does or how they act.

December 5 - Venus enters Scorpio on December 5 for the next three-plus weeks, until December 30. The gloves now come off. Venus is done with niceties and becomes the intuitive psychological detective, no longer afraid to state things as they see it.

The best lesson for Venus in Scorpio is to utilize its talents on itself. This is the opposite sign of one of Venus’ rulerships (Taurus), and so awareness of any co-dependencies is possible. Insecure Venus in Scorpio goes for control and manipulations. Healthy Venus in Scorpio goes for self-empowerment. Venus is the last of the inner planets through Scorpio so it can gain from Mercury and the Sun’s recent passages there.

Venus in Scorpio wants passion as well. It can intuit the next best steps in any relationship and create the attractions. Just remember Sagittarian honesty. Figure out if the value systems also sync up. If they do not, all the attraction in the world will not sustain long-term unions. However, Venus in Scorpio can also know when any relationship has run its course, and if self-reliant enough, bring about the necessary changes and/or endings. Scorpio needs to learn endings are as natural as beginnings, and both are very necessary in natural laws.

December 6 - Mercury makes a waxing square to Saturn on December 6 at 8/9 degrees Sagittarius-Virgo. This aspect may challenge us to balance a need for over-analyzing with intuitive messages. Saturn is slowing down and may get caught up in inertia so Mercury comes along to show the way.

Mercury-Saturn planetary pairs teach us about self-responsibility in thought and action. When part of us wants to go forward and part of us feels stuck, it may take some intuition to know the next step. Western society values the left-brain and dissecting things to pieces. Yet how many times do our biggest ah ha’s come from sleeping on an issue, or meditation and prayer, or a long walk?

Mercury can be Saturn’s friend. It knows the Virgo process and yet now it can channel a more intuitive understanding. Go for it. Talk it out, yet trust your gut when taking action. You are the best person to make the choices right for you, and you get as many chances as you need until you get where you desire to go. It might be helpful to let go of any judgments.

December 7 - The Sun makes a waning square to Uranus on December 7 at 14/15 degrees Sagittarius-Pisces. Somehow old beliefs and attitudes no longer work and it is time for another shedding. There is new information that has surfaced with Uranus direct to expose the limitations of whatever we thought was an absolute.

We do not see our selves the same way anymore either. It could be creative ideas that no longer make sense or bring us excitement. Dreams come and go as we evolve. Uranus direct in Pisces will show us the dreams no longer viable, or at least for right now. This means Sun in Sag may need to realign its creative path. We are not the center of the universe – except for our selves – and yet we each have important contributions for the larger groups.

The beauty of the mutable signs is their ability to adapt and change when necessary. Sun and Uranus both rule fixed signs, so here they can also be more flexible. Go within and find the new sparks of creativity on the horizon. We will not all be presidents of a country yet we each have important roles to play in life. This aspect asks us to find inner recognition from Universal Source rather than our peers.

December 8 - Mars retrograde makes the second of three waning sextiles to Saturn on December 8 at 8/9 degrees Cancer-Virgo. The first one was October 8 at 4/5 degrees and the last waning sextile is March 14, 2008 at 3/4 degrees Cancer-Virgo. This is the relief valve to the Mars retrograde oppositions to Jupiter and Pluto.

There are old family judgments that no longer serve us. We may be stuck in old familial patterns that are not healthy. It is what we know through habit, yet we realize depression sets in every time we re-activate the same old actions. It is time to get in touch with the desires that really do make us happy, versus what is expected of us.

This might be a holiday season to change the family dynamics. Adult children may need to make their own customs with elder parents now becoming more flexible. The issues can become upholding tradition and possible judgments over change, when change is bound to happen as time marches on.

This Mars retro cycle will be full of emotions, and we may be critical of another’s sensitivity or feel they are critical of us. There is a reason for it. Cancer has two emotional cycles – withdrawal and animation, and both are unpredictable in their shifts. Emotional withdrawal happens when something triggers us and we go inward to figure things out. During the entire Mars retrograde cycle (November 15 – January 30, 2008), old unconscious emotions may come bubbling up to process through. Once we figure out what is happening on emotional levels, we can pop back over to the animation side of emoting and engaging others in our lives.

There are themes of recognizing old emotional patterns and breaking them, especially in regard to whatever no longer serves us or makes us happy. Can you let go? What is your heart’s desire right now? Saturn in Virgo will bring up crisis after crisis until we create the changes our soul needs in order to feel peace. Go for it.

December 9 - The New Moon of Sagittarius is December 9 at 17/18 degrees. This is a strong intuition time, and there is a need to trust those instincts. Deeper levels of truth are exposed, especially on emotional levels. Make an effort to honor what is right for you.

People can play the righteous card, and what is right for one person may not be best for another. Initiate your own path. Sagittarius relates to natural spiritual laws and principles and this is a time to merge with whatever you think that is for you. New Moon ceremony in nature is a great way to reconnect with more natural ways.

Quest for truth and honesty. Ask for it to return back to you. The natural law of attraction will return to us the same energy that we put out. Souls who strive to be as honest as possible will find that energy comes back to them, even when others attempt to lie. Things are exposed in magical ways. Trust yourself to always know what is best for you – a great New Moon in Sag theme.

December 10 - Mercury makes a waning square to Uranus on December 10 at 14/15 degrees Sagittarius-Pisces. This is an active month, and it seems like every new insight asks us to also let go of old beliefs and attitudes in order to make room for the new. This aspect emphasizes releasing those old spiritual and mental patterns.

Be careful of clinging to old beliefs that no longer make sense. It will only create depression until you let go. Mercury always tries to make sense of whatever shocking facts and info Uranus brings to the table. While passing through Sagittarius, Mercury can take any issue to a deeper, broader level. This is what is happening now. Somehow current events and realities do not fit with old mental patterns and philosophies, and it is our beliefs that must change to understand the current events in our life.

December 11 - Jupiter makes only one conjunction to Pluto on December 11 at 28/29 degrees Sagittarius. These Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions occur every 12-13 years, with the last one December 2, 1994 at 28/29 degrees Scorpio. The next Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions will be April 4, June 29 and November 12, 2020 between 22-25 degrees Capricorn.

The last cycle was initiated in Pluto’s domain (Scorpio) and this new one is now emphasizing Jupiter’s theme in Sagittarius. At the tale end of Sag there is hope we are learning some of the lessons to this archetype.

There are over 13,000 religions and belief systems on the planet today; where is the common ground? We can get caught up in the words and dogma, or recognize that the path to deeper philosophical understandings is a personal one. Religion and spirituality can lend a helping hand, yet the relationship with Universal Source is a direct inner one-on-one conversation/communion. There is hope this Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius will allow the majorities of any belief system to realize we must figure out how to play in the planet Earth sandbox together.

Sagittarius relates to nature as well, and humans are leaving a very large footprint in nature. The future implications are not very pleasant. Expect these themes to dominate every aspect of modern life, and nature to return the law of attraction in kind. There is hope (Sag is the optimist of the zodiac) that we will take the recycling themes of the last Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Scorpio and get serious about “leaving no trace.”

Jupiter represents expansion and growth. Pluto represents the soul, individually and collectively. Together these two powerhouses synchronize with the evolution of our soul and its desires. The big question is whether or not we can learn to evolve with nature and natural laws, versus trying to dominate. Expect Mama Nature to have the last word, even if she has to expel her pesky human “fleas.”

Jupiter in Sagittarius over the last year has been leading up to these themes. Pluto has for the last 13 years. These two planets will soon move into Capricorn yet these Sag archetypes will continue on in our consciousness. Ask yourself how you can broaden your understandings of universal, timeless truths and live harmoniously with nature. Your children and grandchildren’s future depends upon it.

Here we can quest to find the common ground with others and expand upon those themes, rather than energize the differences. Can you find tolerance for those who are different? Hold healthy boundaries when physical harm is threatened, yet go for the deeper understandings as much as possible. Start this with intimate friends and lovers and then expand from there to the largest circles you can hold.

December 11 - Venus makes a waxing trine to Mars retro on December 11 at 7/8 degrees Scorpio-Cancer. This could easily be a harmonious aspect, even with Mars retrograde and Venus in Scorpio. It is definitely time to get in touch with our emotional body, especially around intimacy issues and manifesting new ideas.

The new values Venus has been trying out since its retrograde cycle last summer are now bearing fruition in some way. We all desire to be loving, loved and lovable. This is a nice aspect to test how well our ideas are playing out. Healthy relationships will find everyone’s needs and desires acknowledged and addressed.

Venus in Scorpio teaches us about recognizing insecurities and creating deeper self-reliance. Mars retro in Cancer is looking at similar issues. So even if insecurity and emotional co-dependency are major issues right now, we somehow know what needs to change. Go for it. Have patience with Mars retro in Cancer starts and stops, look for overall progress.

December 11 - The Sun makes a waning sextile to Neptune on December 11 as well at 19/20 degrees Sagittarius-Aquarius. Sun in Sag finds us wanting to live an inspired life. This aspect allows us to recognize where this is not happening. There is energy to draw us inward and ponder the life experiences that are meaningful.

Sun in Sagittarius may desire to be the speaker or writer or teacher, while Neptune in Aquarius ignores us. It could be a lesson to look for acknowledgement from within first, from God/Goddess rather than the public or our peers. This aspect asks for some type of surrender from the outer world, in order to turn inward again and deepen our connection to Universal Source. We can resist this energy or go with it to deepen our awareness of everything in our lives.

December 12 - Venus makes a waxing sextile to Saturn on December 12 at 8/9 degrees Scorpio-Virgo. This is opportunity to recognize self-responsibility where our needs are concerned. Insecure Venus in Scorpio wants to find someone else to take care of things. Be careful of what you set in motion here.

Saturn in Virgo is a natural analyst, figuring out what needs to be improved in any situation. It has to watch out for taking on the responsibility for everything as well. Awareness of what needs to be done in any situation does not mean you are responsible for it. Hold healthy boundaries as you take care of your own responsibilities in life.

Scorpio and Virgo are great detectives together, and they can create the necessary changes in any situation. What are the evolving changes in your world – work, love and family? Find the courage to take your growth to its next level.

December 13 - Mercury makes a waning sextile to Neptune on December 13 at 19/20 degrees Sagittarius-Aquarius. Mercury will catch up and move in front of the Sun again in a few days. First, Mercury gets its own turn with Neptune. We need to be careful of talking just to talk. Mercury could exaggerate in Sag and it is time for just the facts.

Neptune in Aquarius could be inspiring for Mercury when we search for truth and deeper meaning to life. If Mercury just wants to boast, we could sound elitist or full of fluff. Somehow others pick up on our meaningless words and expose them. Speak your truth and ask for more truth. Find your inner self-worth rather than outside acknowledgement. Then the outer accolades will naturally occur.

December 17 - Mercury makes an exterior conjunction to the Sun on December 17 at 25/26 degrees Sagittarius. This conjunction will relate back to the last Mercury retrograde cycle October 11/12 – November 1 at 9 degrees Scorpio to 23/24 degrees Libra. Whatever relationship and resource issues we addressed from Mercury’s last retro cycle may reach another level of resolution now.

This is like a new moon for communication issues. It can be a good time to have that next conversation with whomever. Sag likes to look at the larger picture and speak in abstract concepts. It also needs to be honest and not exaggerate anything. Strive to speak from the heart about whatever is important to you. New philosophical depths can be reached.

Mercury pulls ahead of the Sun now until the interior conjunction (February 2, 2008 at 17/18 degrees Aquarius) highlighting its next retrograde cycle January 28 – February 18, 2008 at 23/24 degrees to 8/9 degrees Aquarius. As our minds want to race forward from this Sun-Mercury exterior conjunction, take the time to ask for mental inspiration and keep the messages conscious for future reference.

December 17/18 - Venus makes a waning trine to Uranus on December 17/18 at 15 degrees Scorpio-Pisces. Venus in Scorpio is following the Sun and Mercury in making the grand trine aspect in emotional water signs with Mars retro in Cancer and Uranus in Pisces. While Venus is creating new intimacy patterns with Mars, it is going for broader relationship understandings with Uranus.

Intimacy can still be in the picture; Venus-Uranus is just asking us to understand someone else’s viewpoint. There are still continuing relationship lessons from all the inner planets in Scorpio recently. The theme revolves around getting in touch with our emotional bodies and allowing our desire nature to evolve from whatever feels right in our lives these days. Uranus in Pisces will always ask us to look at the broadest perspective we can comprehend, and then Venus in Scorpio brings us back to the immediacy of our own emotional body.

Perhaps another theme could revolve around friendship. Intimate relationships built from foundations of companionship and friendship have these resources to fall back upon when conflicts around intimacy arise. The waning trine between Venus and Uranus brings an ability to understand the larger picture when Venus in Scorpio experiences an emotional uprising and just wants to go for someone’s throat.

December 18 - Jupiter enters Capricorn on December 18 for the next year, until January 5, 2009. Just days before the Sun finishes up its annual passage through Sagittarius, Jupiter completes its year-long passage through its own sign of rulership for the next 12 years. And, Pluto completes its 13-year passage through Sag for the next 248 years. The interplay between Sagittarius and Capricorn on the zodiacal wheel is strong.

From a fire sign to an earth sign, Jupiter, Sun (and Mercury and Venus) and Pluto all have opportunity to teach us how to take inspiration and ground it into new realities. We also get to learn that not all ideas come into manifestation. Practical, Saturn-ruled, Capricorn is preparing to rule the next month, year and decade! We can already feel the themes coming – fiscal responsibility, social maturity and familial patterns will all be addressed.

So will conditioned judgments. When Sagittarius broadens our philosophical and spiritual understandings, those abstract concepts then become laws and customs with Capricorn. With consensus society – approximately 70% of souls from Evolutionary Astrology’s perspective – Jupiter in Sagittarius meant converting everyone to the particular beliefs that each particular group viewed as right. Never mind the 13,000 different religious/spiritual viewpoints at odds with each other; the vast majority of these beliefs think they have the upper hand. Now through Jupiter in Capricorn they want to enforce their rules upon everyone else and make it law. The most common examples are the evangelicals in the U.S. and the muslims in the Middle East, yet it can be any group with a certain set of beliefs and ideals.

As Capricorn follows Sagittarius we must also look at natural laws versus human-made laws. Humans have created a lot of conditionings upon any particular society. It is necessary to have laws, rules and customs in order to function as a group. Yet danger comes when we force everyone to agree and conform. Any society can condition human-made rules into most of its group until they cannot distinguish conditioned judgments and guilt from natural guilt.

Jupiter in Capricorn will raise this issue again and again. Where is the balance between community and individuality? All social groups will be tested with this theme, and hopefully, learn a new balance between the two. When Sagittarius brings about deeper understandings of more natural spiritual principles then Capricorn can create more natural laws in harmony with nature versus superiority over it.

There will be many lessons about fiscal responsibility as Jupiter, and then Pluto, move through Capricorn. This next year in 2008 will bring on strong themes and pendulum swings from the exuberance of Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius. Get your own financial world in order. Be careful of Uranus in Pisces creating illusions of financial security with credit cards. The United States in particular went to war on credit. The majority of its citizens would take strong actions to end this war if it was coming out of their own pocketbook in real time.

Jupiter in Capricorn will also allow fiscally responsible individuals to accomplish some long-term goals. Any archetype has a spectrum of meaning and Jupiter in Capricorn is meant to teach us about money and how to create it. Unfortunately, this is not taught in U.S. schools, and souls are left to learn it from family and society. During Jupiter in Capricorn, it is time to review your own familial beliefs and rules around money. How do you wish to evolve your own fiscal patterns?

We may also find the true costs of how we are affecting environmental harmony on the planet. There have always been cooling and warming trends over eons of time. However, this is the first time that one species has had so much impact without taking into consideration the effects upon all the other inhabitants. Capricorn will bring many reality checks in this area. How lightly can you tread upon the planet?

Jupiter in Capricorn will find all of us questing to put our feet on the ground and create priority lists in every area of our lives – goals that are really important to us. There are lessons to grow up and become self-sustaining and self-responsible participants in our families, social groups and work environments. Humans have survived for so long because of our strength in groups. It is time to realize we are a global community. Nationalism will not completely fade away – it could easily rise up again with Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn. Somehow individual countries need to mature and become part of the larger global community just as each individual must.

December 19 - Saturn turns stationary retrograde on December 19 at 8/9 degrees Virgo. This begins its annual four-month retro cycle until it turns stationary direct on May 2, 2008 at 1/2 degrees Virgo. The highlight of Saturn retro is its opposition to the Sun on February 24, 2008 at 5/6 degrees Virgo-Pisces. This is the first of three Saturn retrograde cycles in Virgo.

This holiday season may be unusual in various ways with Mars retrograde in Cancer, Jupiter fresh into Capricorn and now Saturn turning retrograde. We may all need major flexibility with any holiday plans. Saturn retro in Virgo may create last minute crises as tradition seems to have been left behind. Breathe, and create new traditions. Find ways to be together without breaking the bank. It is family and community that is important. The material goods will always come around next year, probably cheaper yet.

Saturn in Virgo brings lessons around health and self-improvement themes. It also, through polarity sign Pisces, brings beliefs into crises through the mechanism of judgments. All through Saturn in Virgo we must question the choice-points rising to the surface through each crisis. The purpose of the crisis and eruption is to create change. Guilt can keep us stuck from making the very changes that are necessary for our health.

It is time to question the source of our guilt through Saturn retrograde in Virgo. Is it natural guilt or conditioned guilt? Natural guilt – our species has evolved its brain enough to realize that physically harming another person creates a sense of guilt no matter how much it is suppressed today. Conditioned guilt – we need a third party (religion) to access a relationship with God/Goddess/Universal Source. Many religions create standards of right/wrong conduct that create guilt when we deviate.

Every society and social group creates standards of right/wrong conduct – overtly and covertly – that cause us to feel guilty and inferior when we do not agree. All this is up for review with Saturn retrograde in Virgo. Inwardly ask, what feels right for you? Ask again and again until you find your own answers within. Create a standard of right/wrong conduct that works for you, and then find the like-minded souls who agree. Create community, and then agree to disagree with other communities who think differently. Strive to lessen harm, yet hold healthy boundaries when necessary.

For a long time, human diets consisted of raw foods, then minimally processed. Today’s diet is full of processed foods and chemicals foreign to our systems. Countries that adopt westernized processed diets soon catch up with the accompanying dis-eases. Saturn retrograde in Virgo has all of us assessing our health and wellness along the lines of diet, exercise and rest. Where can you make improvements? Make the Virgo repeated effort until you are successful. Where can you create better wellness in your life on spiritual, mental, emotional and physical areas? Make the repeated Virgo effort until changes occur.

Virgo is just one more sign teaching us to evolve. Its lesson is learning to do so without crisis. Virgo is the process of unconditional self-love in the midst of all our imperfections. May Saturn retrograde in Virgo make these lessons your actual experience of reality. May you be most successful.

December 19 - Mercury makes a conjunction to Pluto on December 19 at 28/29 degrees Sagittarius. Our minds want to wrap around whatever makes us feel good, again and again. Right-brain wisdom can be accessed by our left-brain conscious mind on deep emotional levels. This conjunction brings along new sparks that allow us to look at things from a different perspective.

New perspectives can also bring up insecurities. Breathe. As Pluto moves through these last degrees of Sagittarius, we are bringing a cycle of deep spiritual pondering to conclusion. The insights need to come to the surface and Mercury is here to help. It may take major changes in our lives to find a sense of meaning again. Mercury-Pluto can initiate the courage.

You can use your gut instincts to get to the deepest level of truth in your world. Make the effort.

December 20 - Mercury enters Capricorn on December 20 for the next two-plus weeks, until January 7, 2008. Mercury now takes its Sag insights to create new realities. Again, the pattern from Sagittarius to Capricorn is fire coming down to earth. Spirit must manifest, or consciousness creates matter. What plan is Mercury now initiating?

When Sag inspiration is “pie in the sky” then Capricorn depression sets in. We realize our dreams are either “been there, done that” and it is time to move on, or they are not ready to become our next manifestation. We will always dream and seek visions. Then we anchor them and create them, or realize that the dream is not for our highest and best good. Depression turns us inward to get in touch with what is real, and what still needs to change in our life. Depression can be an excellent tool in helping us understand what needs to evolve.

Utilize Mercury in Capricorn to make your plan. Mentally prepare yourself to accept reality and then move forward, creating from the space/time spot you find yourself in. Let Mercury in Capricorn help you change your thought process in order to change your world, thought after thought after thought…Saturn retro in Virgo, is your cup half-empty or half-full? How do you change your thought process to half-full and filling up?

December 20 - Mercury conjuncts Jupiter on December 20 at 0/1 degrees Capricorn. This is our left-brain – Mercury – and our right-brain – Jupiter – now meeting in practical Capricorn. Again, our thoughts come down to earth. There can be themes of self-responsibility and social maturation taking place. Pay attention to new messages coming through. Capricorn is the sign that helps make our dreams come true, and helps us manifest our goals.

As Mars marches backward through Cancer – Capricorn’s polarity – and we re-adjust our desire nature, this Mercury-Jupiter conjunction gives us insight about our next step. What do we really want in our lives at this point? What feels right? Mercury can come up with a plan that will work from Jupiter’s input. Again, realize that any let downs are just getting us in touch with reality so that we can set goals with our feet on the ground. We can reach for the stars. Capricorn just shows us the space/time medium necessary to get there.

December 20 – Finally, the Sun conjuncts Pluto on December 20 at 28/29 degrees Sagittarius. This will be the Sun’s last conjunction to Pluto in late Sag for the next 248 years. Sun-Pluto conjunctions are annual initiations to self-actualize our soul’s desires, and for the last 13 years they have met in Sagittarius. Individually and collectively, our souls have desired spiritual growth and expansion. We have desired to tap into the larger forces of Consciousness and recognize how the universe works. We want inspired life paths. It requires us to be honest with our selves about what our soul really needs.

What final inspirations await reception in the depth of your soul? What spiritual creativity have you achieved over the last dozen years? What do you still desire to achieve? You will now carry this forward with you into new manifestations of soul desires. These Sagittarian-Capricorn interchanges require us to physically walk our spiritual talk. We must become the example we wish to see in the world.

As all these Sag conjunctions take place in the later degrees, we can tap into the Galactic Center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This is the physical example of the “local” center of our universe – a point to reach for God/Goddess. Find your quiet moments and ask for universal truths and inspiration to be revealed to you. The world needs it, and we can do our individual part to create community – between our self and God/Goddess, and then in ever-increasing ripples of consciousness. When the world gives you its dirty laundry, can you energetically wash it and send it back out clean, with all the love and peace you can create? May you be most successful.

May God/Goddess bless you through Sun in Sagittarius!
