Monthly Forecast - February 2003

The New Moon of Aquarius is February 1st at 12/13 degrees. A New Moon signals a time of emotional new beginnings that can be fulfilled two weeks later during the Full Moon time. This month’s Full Moon in the middle of February comes with lots of planetary activity that lesser-evolved souls could use to energize a war.

At this point in the monthly lunation cycles we have the New Moon in a sign followed by the Full Moon in the same sign and its polarity. This brings a natural progression of emotional understanding of the archetypal energy represented by the polarity of zodiacal signs involved.

Aquarius represents several archetypes in Evolutionary Astrology. The mantra for the Sun’s annual passage through Aquarius is: I break free with new creativity in myself. The intent of the Aquarian archetype is to de-condition from whatever is conditioning us unconsciously on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

There are three choices to this de-conditioning archetype: to totally go for it, to totally resist changing and defend the past, and the most common choice, which is a blend of the previous two choices. In other words, most of us choose to change in some ways and resist in other ways when we are faced with breaking free from past conditioning.

So during the Sun’s annual passage through Aquarius and the annual New Moon there, we receive messages into our consciousness and emotional ah ha’s to break free from our past, and to be who we truly are.

Some of us will get the message and make the effort to really change. Some of us will feel threatened and resist or ignore things with all our might. Most of us will acknowledge what needs to change and yet lack the courage or willpower or perseverance to see it through.

These same choices exist on the collective levels as well. In America we see a President who wants to resist changing and is just repeating the past through more and more war. We can also see the groups of people who realize war never creates peace and ask for other options.

However, the majority of U.S. citizens fear and dislike war and yet do not have the motivation to energize other choices. We give our opinions all over the place and yet talk is all we do. Even worse, we energize what we do not want by giving more attention to how bad it is.

That is why Aquarius and its ruler, Uranus, and the 11th house, kick us in the butt sometimes. Evolution takes place one way or another. Resisting forces are always overcome by evolving forces. When was the last time you were able to resist aging in your physical body?

The need to de-condition the collective desire for war and domination over others comes to a head all month long, especially during the second half of the month. Collectively we will make our individual choices and act accordingly.

In today’s world there is a growing awareness that energy does indeed create matter, in fact energy comes before the material world. More and more are realizing that visualizing and energizing peace creates peace. It is more than just fighting against war though. In fact, peace is the opposite of anti-war. It is energizing what we want to see happen.

For those who desire peace, ask this simple question - What energetic response comes to you when you think of President Bush or Saddam Hussein? Anger, disgust, hatred? Then you are only energizing that in their world. Can you find a place within yourself to visualize Bush and Saddam making statements toward peace and negotiating? Can you find love within yourself to send them love when you think of them? Find it!

This is the awakening Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius are giving us: energy creates matter, e=mc2. De-condition your beliefs and attitudes. Make the conscious effort again and again to not give any energy to what you fear. Energize what you would like to see happen in the world around you and in your own world.

The Sun opposes Jupiter retrograde on February 2 at 13/14 degrees Aquarius-Leo. What new beliefs can you realize in your world? What new beliefs can you understand about yourself? Here is where we can connect in to the larger forces of power through what we call our intuition and somehow just know an answer we cannot logically deduct.

This year the Sun-Jupiter opposition occurs in Aquarius-Leo and we get to evolve our own personal beliefs from what is happening in the collective circles we walk in. We can realize our role to play in our family, in our work place, in our spiritual circles, in our communities, and in our world.

Are you resisting the changes in your belief system by defending the past? Must you prove yourself right and others wrong? Can you understand a larger picture than the one you use to subscribe to?

Venus makes a waning sextile to Uranus on February 2 as well at 27/28 degrees Sagittarius-Aquarius. Insights into old love patterns that no longer work happen here. The energy is to release the old ways of loving. When we do, a void opens up to allow the new ideas of how to love, and whom to love, to come in.

Mars then makes a waning sextile to Neptune, also on February 2, at 10/11 degrees Sagittarius-Aquarius. Together with Venus-Uranus above we can receive some major insights into our desires relationships and what no longer works. There are messages here regarding what is the truth and what are lies and games.

Those who are making the effort to break free from old behavioral patterns can understand greater truths about themselves and others at this time. Those who desire to defend the past just keep reinterpreting things the same old way. There can be a refusal to really look at anything that is in their face.

Venus moves into Capricorn on February 4 for a four-week journey. This is a place for Venus to settle down (after expansive Sag) and really get it touch with what is real. We can feel sensitive and vulnerable when Venus passes through Capricorn and it gets covered up and/or denied.

What is happening for you now? Venus in Capricorn is another message to take care of our own needs, especially those outer needs in the world of work and career. Regardless of your position in your work environment, only you are responsible for getting yourself there. What can you become more conscious of in creating your current situation?

How can you take responsibility for your contributions to society and release blaming others? Do you use others to meet your needs? Do you allow others to take advantage of you? How can you remove yourself from those situations? Venus in Capricorn is about reaching deep, down inside and loving your self.

Mars makes a waxing trine to Jupiter retro on February 5 at 12/13 degrees Sagittarius-Leo. Here is expanding energy on our version of the truth. We want to lead others and show them the way. Question your desires here – are you taking the largest picture into consideration? Or are you trying to paint the pictures the way you want them to be?

Trines bring an ease of energy, both good and bad. Listen to your feedback from others here. This is great energy to grow and move forward, when we are questing for truth instead of preaching to others.

The Sun makes a waxing sextile to Pluto at 19/20 degrees Aquarius-Sagittarius on February 8. There is a lot of archetypal energy to quest for truth with the planets in outer signs these days. Lessor-evolved souls will invest energy into preaching their version of the truth.

Sun waxing sextile Pluto is asking our souls to move forward with new desires. If we make the effort, there is an ability to break free from the past and make the next step toward the Source. How is your life expanding here? What are your desires?

Then the Sun makes a waning trine to Saturn retro on February 11 at 22/23 degrees Aquarius-Gemini. We can find our place in society with this aspect. Saturn is slowing down at the end of its retrograde cycle so things are building up with respect understanding our work and our role in the world.

Saturn retro is also energy to release the crystallized past, whatever it is for each of us. As the Sun makes a waning trine we can understand our roles in our community and receive support in those roles. We can easily let go of what is no longer ours to do.

We can also resist (the trine aspect’s lack of tension) our evolving responsibilities and implement the same old plans as before. Can you receive your rewards and still understand when the time for change has come? Or, do you cling to the past yet again?

Mercury moves into Aquarius for a brief three-week stay on February 12, and ignites all this Aquarian energy. Mercury rules the conscious mind and Uranus rules the unconscious mind. Mercury in Uranus’ sign means we go a little deeper into those depths of the mind. Are you comfortable there? Or do you find it easier to ignore those little voices in your head giving you the next step in breaking free and being yourself?

Uranus is in the last days of its passage through Aquarius, moving into Pisces on March 10. So, now is the time for those repeated messages into our consciousness of how each of us can de-condition from the past and individuate. Mercury moving into Aquarius intensifies the messages.

Collectively the voices on how to get along globally reach an even louder crescendo. Aquarian/Uranian energy intent on defending the past keeps singing the same old song, ignoring any other tune. Now the pressure builds as President Bush shouts his war chants.

REMEMBER: energize the effects you desire to see. Sometimes, when those in the middle remain apathetic or immobilized, cataclysms occur to break free from the past on major levels. It appears to get worse instead of better. Hold the intent you desire to see in your consciousness as Mercury moves through Aquarius.

Jupiter retrograde in Leo makes the second of three oppositions to Neptune in Aquarius on February 16 at 11/12 degrees. What is the truth? What are you realizing about yourself? Where have you been in resistance to understanding your life? Can you deepen your relationship with God/Goddess at this time? What is your next step back to the Source, God/Goddess?

Jupiter rules intuition and our personal belief systems. Neptune is the collective conscious/unconsciousness, or God/Goddess at the broadest levels. These Jupiter-Neptune oppositions are for realizing the deepest levels of truth possible. Confusions can be clarified at this time if we make the effort to grow.

Or, if we are clinging to the past during all this Aquarian energy then we can resist/oppose moving forward. Then we will use our Jupiter in Leo intuition to just defend our limited beliefs. For most of us this will lead to more confusion and/or depression which we try to ignore.

Watch the leaders of countries interpret their version of god at this time. Watch the lines that are drawn in the sand. Visualize America understanding and supporting religious/spiritual unity in diversity. Emotionalize peace no matter what, within your self and with others. Visualize global leaders networking together, making an effort to understand each other’s belief systems and finding the common ground.

Mars also makes a conjunction to Pluto on February 16 as well at 19/20 degrees Sagittarius. This is a classic aspect of war and tension in the zodiacal sign of religion and spirituality. Who has the truth? How many wars have been fought in the name of god?

Mars rules the conscious desires of the soul. Pluto represents the soul and it’s mostly unconscious desires. Every two years these two rulers of Scorpio meet and we release old desires and initiate new ones. Mars is the vehicle by which the unconscious desires of the soul are made conscious.

How many souls on the planet are becoming conscious of desiring world peace? How many souls on the planet are beginning to believe the U.S. wants global domination? What new desires are initiating within you to create real peace upon the planet?

What are you noticing in your personal life? This is a time to release old desires we have either fulfilled, or have been clinging to for security reasons. What do you want in your life now?

Make a quest to have all the truth revealed and then walk the talk.

Also on February 16 the Full Moon of Leo takes place at 27/28 degrees Aquarius-Leo. The annual time to understand our unique role in our community and society. Emotions are running very high, as everyone wants their voice to be heard. Here is where we find out how well we are breaking free from the past, or just repeating it all over again.

This Aquarian energy may also have us wondering who we are (Leo), and how do we fit into the big picture of things? Do we really matter? This Full Moon reveals where this is important to us.

In one day we have the opposition of Jupiter to Neptune, the conjunction of Mars to Pluto and the Full Moon. Start with yourself. Face your crossroads. Create peace in your own world. Create peace with those in your life. Keep the focus on energizing what you want to have happen regardless of what goes on around you. Choose again and again to send love into the world.

The next day on February 17 the Sun conjuncts Uranus for the last time in Aquarius at 28/29 degrees. For eight years the Sun’s annual conjunction to Uranus has occurred in Aquarius, the sign Uranus rules. The Sun energizes that Aquarian/Uranian theme of breaking free from the past into new creativity.

Here are some final realizations of truth to set us free. Here are the unconscious messages we must yet face. Personally and collectively these few days bring major awakenings and/or shocks to our consciousness. The soul’s need to defend the past in order to feel secure can come busting out at this time.

Emotionalize peace, be peace.

The Sun then enters Pisces on February 18 and the Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I am in wholeness with my reality. This is the solar month that we can put it all together, or lose it altogether. After all the Aquarian shocks of the last few weeks and month, we may just want to escape.

Yet here is the energy to reconnect and merge with God/Goddess and see the oneness and interconnectedness everywhere with everyone. Just as terrorists and selfish leaders keep persevering with their missions, so can we keep sending love and peace to them.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and brings the potential for the deepest understandings. It is ultimately an energy battle between the separating desires and the returning desires. Whether we fight with chariots or nuclear weapons, we will have war until enough of us desire real peace and unity. May this be the time.

Utilize this solar Piscean energy to bring yourself to peace and love, for yourself and the planet, every time you sense your self somewhere else. Just find your love and connection with the Source, God/Goddess. Just be in that love in all you do. Be a contagious love bug.

Mars opposes Saturn on February 20 at 22/23 degrees Sagittarius-Gemini. Actually on the exact degree and minute that Saturn goes direct tomorrow. Opposing forces can either fight or understand the wholeness they are each a part of.

Mars and Saturn are both historical planets of war, and both want control. Their passages through Sag and Gemini have been teaching them the relativity of truth. There is more than one path Home.

Saturn is just finishing up its third retrograde cycle in Gemini for the last two-plus years. Reality is multifaceted, and our realities must go with the flow. Mars in Sag wants one way: it’s way. Saturn can now understand there must be some flexibility and adaptability in life. May Mars and Saturn see the larger picture and draw a circle that is large enough for both of them.

Where have you been battling for control? Can you replace the outer control with inner security? Can you go with the flow in your life these days? Can you find a common ground? Power struggles here are only revealing our insecurities.

Every morning upon awakening and every evening before sleeping, visualize world leaders talking to each other and understanding each other’s concerns. Utilize the media to trigger your visualization again and again throughout the day. Feeeeel world leaders sincerely laughing as they ease the tensions and create better economies for all concerned.

You are free to choose how you desire to create your world. Again and again and again.

Mercury opposes Jupiter on February 20 as well at 10/11 degrees Aquarius-Leo. Another day filled with ah ha’s and realizations. Mercury rules the left-brain, and Jupiter rules the right-brain. When they oppose each other our left-brains must realize there is a larger picture than the one we cling to for security. The square peg will not fit into the round hole.

Mercury can get it here in Aquarius with Jupiter opening mental doors. For the answers that will not come, just let things go. Your answers will be there when you allow them to naturally come through. Just go about your business and watch what happens. Expect and emotionalize everything OK.

Mercury can get those flashes of truth coming through.

Mercury then makes a conjunction to Neptune the same day (February 20) at 11/12 degrees Aquarius. Confusion and clarity, which will reign? This is a time for the conscious mind to open up to all that is. In Aquarius it can mean the Ultimate Truth or the version of truth that makes us feel secure and right in defending the past. Where are you?

Can you openly ask: what else is there for me to know? What am I afraid to know? How much can I de-condition? Mercury is beside Neptune while opposing Jupiter. It takes effort to really see what is going on here. Mercury’s message is that it is time to see.

Will America see what George W. Bush is really doing? Will they see how he is aggressively creating war? Iraq has the second-largest oil reserves in the world. Bush’s personal history and Presidential’ cabinet are full of oil interests. What is the truth here?

Confusion in your own life signals something deeper for you to realize. You are still choosing to believe some conditioned illusion of separation from the Source. Ask inner questions, and ask for truth to be revealed. Utilize any depression to get to the bottom of your illusions.

Saturn goes direct on February 21 at 22/23 degrees Gemini, finishing up a four-month retrograde cycle. Lessor-evolved souls may choose to push their version of reality onto others. How can you open up to go with the flow in your life? How can you now be more inwardly secure regardless of what is happening in the world?

Saturn represents the individuated consciousness and when it is retrograde it points the way to the unconsciousness. So the month of February has brought these repeated messages from below the surface, and things are now in our conscious reality stronger than any other time this winter. So many revelations happen this month. Where is it taking place for you?

Collectively the world may be realizing even more that President Bush’s version of reality does not fit the global community. How many will speak up to him at this time? How will his citizens speak up?

As the world revolves around you, can you choose your reality and walk it, talk it, energize it? Again and again, you have opportunities this month to create the world you want. Which one will you choose?

Mercury makes a waxing sextile to Pluto on February 26 at 19/20 degrees Aquarius-Sag. Messages in how to move forward from the depth of our souls. Pay attention. This one passes quickly. What emotionalizes you right now? What truths are coming up?

Finally, Mercury makes a waning trine to Saturn on February 27 at 22/23 degrees Aquarius-Gemini. Saturn has now gone direct and is moving forward for the final few months in the sign Mercury rules. Mercury has been traveling in the Aquarian energy of insights.

For souls whose security is outwardly based (ego), this may be a moment to recreate the past all over again and defend it quite smoothly. Sooner or later though, evolution will take place.

For some souls there is a flash of insight that something could be different. It could be a moment to grow, and a change, minor or major, could take place. Reality could shift and a soul grows and society takes another step forward.

For souls whose security is inwardly based (soul), there can be a growing awareness that life is rapidly changing. There is an opportunity to see the world as it really is and to choose to freely interact with society in unique, evolving ways. There is opportunity to be who one is, and network with the world in meeting its many needs.

This is a time period to face the many changes in the world and choose how we will co-create the next step. It is time to realize that the energetic world is much more dynamic and stronger then the physical. Energy creates matter – where do you choose to put your energy?
