The 20 Year Jupiter-Saturn Cycle
Many of us are looking at changes of some kind in our work, career and financial situations. 2000
brings the ending and new beginning of a 20 year Jupiter-Saturn prosperity cycle and
expanding - Jupiter - our realities - Saturn. This coming Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on
May 28, 2000 is at 22/23 degrees Taurus - a sign of resources, money, values, self-reliance, and
sexuality. What is healthy use of the planetary resources, our own resources for the next 20
years? What value changes do we need to make to live in more harmony with Gaia?
Jupiter is about growth, Saturn is about contraction. Together they create all our expansions into
new realities. These are the social planets. They bridge from the inner, personal planets - Sun,
Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars - to the unconsciousness - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Jupiter
represents the development of our intuition, our personal beliefs, and our ability to grow and
move forward, socialization. Saturn gives us the discipline to make things happen, to relate to
space and time, to create social laws, customs and taboos, and to face reality with what we can
and cannot do.
It is only natural when they meet in Taurus to wonder how we can survive in our social worlds. Today
it means a job and career and money. So, what are the ways in which your current work doesn't
satisfy you anymore? What are your emerging new desires in creativity? How can you make it support
you? Again, the theme repeated over and over this year is how do we learn to survive on our own
in harmony with the resources on planet Earth?
Remember to think in terms of planning and creating things that will last beyond just today and
into the next two decades. Remember that all jobs can be sacred. It depends on our ability to
come from that type of an attitude and belief system. There is opportunity to really get in touch
with work that exists in more harmony with nature. There is also opportunity to just want more,
more possessions, more money, etc.
