Monthly Forecast - June 2000

What a breath of fresh air June brings. Sun, Venus and Mars in Gemini allow us to shift and adapt, to begin movement with these new realities the Taurean planetary lineup brought us last month. The energy is shifting into a mental focus that wants to fill in the details of the new beginnings we are making.

June starts with Sun in Gemini opposing Pluto in Sagittarius at 11/12 degrees on the 1st. This is an annual aspect which currently lets us mentally realize the potential of what we may become on deeper soul levels. Sometimes ego battles with soul. It is opportunity for ego to realign itself with soul. Left brain is asked to acknowledge right brain and let it intuitively guide left brain through all the chaos and choices. Today it gives us the chance to realize all the insecurities that need to be metamorphosed into greater self-reliance, last month's Taurus message.

This is followed the next day, June 2nd, by the New Moon in Gemini at 12/13 degrees. New mental beginnings. The evolutionary mantra for Gemini is: I gather information with intuitive searching. We are wanting to grow and shift mentally. The focus is outward again, talking to others, setting intent on gathering information, weighing the choices in front of us.

With the exception of the Moon which makes every possible aspect it can make to every planet in one month, the other planetary major aspects this month are conjunctions (new beginnings), oppositions (awareness) and trines (understanding). This adds to energy being allowed to shift and flow this month.

On June 2nd Mars makes a waxing trine to Uranus at 20/21 degrees Gemini/Aquarius. This is the most harmonious aspect these two high-energy, shake-it-up planets can make. The potential is to realize and move in the directions that lets each of us be uniquely who we are, to each fulfill our role in the larger collective. The desire to move, change, grow is great. The danger is trying to impose our way as the only way to do things, when it is time to let everyone do it their own way.

Venus opposes Pluto on June 3rd at 11/12 degrees Gemini-Sagittarius. Some possible fallout from last month to finish up these self-reliance lessons. Realizing that someone else cannot love us exactly as we want them to, only we can love ourselves that way. Venus opposing Pluto asks each of us to love ourselves better on deep, soul levels and makes us aware of the ways in which we do not.

As we have been realizing greater self-reliance this spring, we have had opportunity to shift away from making someone else responsible for us and our needs. This allows the Venus-Pluto opposition to make us aware of new ways to love ourselves. This then allows others to be free to interact and love us as they want to, instead of as we want to demand for security reasons. We then have better ability to choose to stay and interact with others if we find their loving respectful, or to choose to remove ourselves from interaction if their behavior is unacceptable. This also creates awareness of where equality of giving and receiving is lacking in our relationships.

Then one week later Sun, Venus and Uranus dance with each other. On June 11 Sun and Venus in Gemini each make waxing trines to Uranus in Aquarius at 20/21 degrees. Later that same day Venus passes over Sun, conjuncting at 20/21 Gemini. More relationship adjusting, this time ideas and communications are flowing. Venus seems to be making an impact in June as well as being last month's Taurean ruler. Answers are coming to the relationship situations that we struggled with last month. We now want to talk about things.

Sun waxing trine Uranus in air signs makes us want to be heard. Creative ideas are flowing out and we want others to agree with us, help us, support us, notice us. Better ideas on how to relate to others could easily be on the agenda. Our own creative juices are very active, let it out. We are full of the possibilities of what we can do with our lives.

Venus waxing trine Uranus wants relationship excitement. If we are not learning these self-reliance lessons then possible blowups over not being loved enough could flare up. Relationship eruptions could happen. The ability to realize what is going on is strong. The energy to shift is with us. Remaining stuck in relationship wars is only pointing out the depth of our insecurities.

If we have been working on loving ourselves better this time period could make us feel real good about ourselves. New ways of loving ourselves and giving and receiving love with others is flowing. The Sun-Venus conjunction is about loving ourselves in a variety of ways with Gemini. So, what are the ways in which you can love yourself better?

Mars becomes the second ancient planet to enter Cancer on June 16th. Mercury is leading the way. Sun and Venus will soon follow. Those security issues are being tested again. Our actions become very security-oriented. We can mentally decide to do things one way and our emotions kick in and let us know it is scary to move forward totally responsible for ourselves. This is not how most of us are raised in America, the great land of co-dependency. Remember, all actions now have opportunity to create greater self-reliance, especially emotionally.

This spring has brought major self-reliance lessons and the need to move beyond our limitations with the planets passage through Taurus. Then the Gemini planetary flow brought the ideas and beginnings, movement. Now the planets moving into Cancer one-by-one and gathering again in July may bring the emotional reactions/responses to all these changes we are making. These self-reliance issues will be tested, again, all year.

Full Moon in Sagittarius opposing Sun in Gemini at 26/27 degrees, also on June 16th, brings us the opportunity to understand and realize what emotional insecurities are now arising. We can be given insight on how to make the emotional changes being asked of us. We can also have some fierce arguments defending our points of view if we are unreceptive to these emotional/mental changes.

The emotional momentum is building. Venus moves into Cancer June 18th. Any feelings and emotions of insecurity must be addressed. We are all feeling the need to be comforted, taken care of; or, wanting to take care of others in order to feel secure and in control.

Venus is quite sensitive in Cancer. Our insecurities can make us quite easily perceive things as hurtful by others. Sometimes it is in order to force us to take care of ourselves. Venus wants everything to be safe and comfortable. We must learn how to create that inside, to be nurturing and loving toward ourselves.

Sun follows Venus into Cancer on June 20th. The evolutionary mantra for Cancer is: I grow emotionally as I move forward. Cancerian energy is all about emotional self-reliance, whereas Gemini brings lessons of mental self-reliance and Taurus teaches physical self-reliance. This is the time of the year for each of us to work on ourselves.

Emotional self-reliance means we are each responsible for each and every emotion we have. Regardless of whether we have the best relationship in the world with someone, no relationships, or most likely codependent relationships, we are each responsible for our own emotional needs.

Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in Cancer now demand that we focus on these emotions of ours and ask where it is we are insecure. Don't worry, it won't be hard to notice. The challenge is to move forward in those ways that ask us to go it alone, to really be responsible for taking care of ourselves in every way. Family issues may come to the surface at this time showing us those old patterns of co-dependency.

Then June 21 Venus conjuncts Mars at 3/4 Cancer. These two planets of love haven't met since August 1998 when they also had a conjunction at 19/20 Cancer. Conjunctions represent new beginnings, a new cycle of the planetary energies involved. With Venus and Mars it is about love, receiving and giving love. With Venus and Mars in Cancer the emotions are greatly intensified. Cancer is about learning emotional self-reliance.

So this Venus-Mars conjunction may bring up all the vulnerabilities we have in relationships. How many ways do we perceive our needs not being met? How can we meet those needs? How do we move into better ways of loving ourselves and others without taking on responsibility for anyone else or asking them to be responsible for us?

This is a time period to allow our emotions to come to the surface. With the south node of the Moon in Capricorn (north node in Cancer) old, buried emotions from childhood, past lives, last week, are in our face again and not going away. We each need to figure out how best to acknowledge these emotions, accept them, process through them in order to heal and move forward into new emotions.

Some of us may need to be alone to allow these emotions to be freely expressed. Some may find intensely emotional interactions with others. Some may find relationship rewards with love blossoming and growing. Whatever our personal situation, the energy during the end of June (and all of July) is learning how to love ourselves and others better.

Mercury joins the party June 23rd with a stationary retrograde at 19/20 Cancer. This combines with Venus and Mars to add a mental focus to understanding all this emotional intensity. We must watch a tendency to repeat focusing on our love issues the same way over and over due to the very insecurities we are trying to overcome. The effort is in calming down emotionally to really hear what is being mirrored back to us and then mentally working to grow into new emotional understandings. Finally on June 30th Jupiter moves into Gemini for its annual passage through another sign of the zodiac. Ideas continue to multiply and grow in regard to the recent Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus. An important message of this new Jupiter-Saturn expanding-into-new-realities cycle is that we are each responsible for our own survival on every level. Jupiter in Gemini is now showing the ways in which to do so.

We must watch going overboard with more ideas then we can physically act upon. Jupiter can overwhelm itself in Gemini, promise too many things and then get caught up in lots of word games, lies and nervous breakdowns. Jupiter is approaching an opposition to Pluto (September). This gibbous phase between these two planets is a time to analyze and weigh all the opportunities, and then fine-tune a course of action.

Jupiter in Gemini works best when we allow all the ideas to come up, and then take the time to ponder (Sagittarius, natural ruler of Jupiter and polarity of Gemini) which ideas to follow through on, which ideas to let go of. Gemini energy implodes upon itself when it gets too much information overload. Jupiter helps create the overload. So, let ideas come and go and see what sticks around over time.

We need to let our intuition explore new ideas. We can learn how to be more flowing on intuitive levels, learning to trust those spontaneous answers that just pop in. Jupiter in Gemini asks us to let our intuition operate in new ways, to trust that this next step feels right even if we do not know where it is taking us.

Finally, Jupiter in Gemini asks us to realize that there is relativity to truth. We each have our own way of interpreting truth which is usually different than the way others in our life interpret it. Jupiter in Gemini teaches us that there are many paths home to the same place and we must each take the path that seems best for us.

May God/Goddess bless you in June!
