Monthly Forecast - March 2000

March starts out bright and early with intuitive messages to lead us into new ways of mentally processing and new ways of looking at things. The Sun crosses over Mercury retrograde early March 1st at 11/12 degrees Pisces. This is known as an inferior conjunction when these two planets meet during Mercury's retrograde cycle. It is a time period to pay attention to our mental messages. This time analytical left-brain Mercury is being asked to let answers come from deep within our souls. Intuition is strong. The veil to the spirit world is thin. What messages are you receiving at this time?

The Sun's annual passage through Pisces (February 19, 2000 - March 19, 2000) represents the time of year for all of us to get in touch with our personal relationship to God/Goddess. We are asked to look at our deepest desires and realign them with reality. Piscean energy teaches us what is real and what is not. One of our deepest disappointments in life is realizing a cherished dream or ideal is not going to manifest. It either represents a "been there, done that" we can't let go of, or it is not what is highest and best for our soul's growth. So how best do we realign our most cherished desires with divine desire?

As the last sign of the zodiac Pisces includes all energies and it brings up all kinds of old stuff to be released. It asks us to bring things to completion and accept endings. This way we may begin again and rebirth when the Sun moves into Aries, and move forward without dragging the past with us. Easier said than done.

With the New Moon in Pisces soon following on March 5/6 we will again have these opportunities to open up intuitively to the new ways we are needing to move forward. What are the new dreams giving birth right now?

We have had an interesting but often overlooked inconjunct minor aspect between Saturn and Pluto over the last year that is exact for the 3rd and final time March 6. It has been a waxing inconjunct aspect - the Virgo aspect of 150 degrees - compromise and adjustment. Saturn in Taurus has been making a waxing inconjunct to Pluto in Sagittarius on May 18, 1999 (9/10 degrees), December 17, 1999 (10/11 degrees) and March 6, 2000 (12/13 degrees).

We have all been working to discern and adjust our personal realities to the emerging desires and new beliefs within our souls. Sometimes with a few reality shocks. Its like we have so many ways this year in which we are being asked to get in touch with what is real. What do we really need in our life and what is fluff that gets in the way?

Being the inconjunct aspect we have no lack of others in our life trying to tell us how we can make changes to our realities. Listen yes, but listen to your own intuition as well. Many of the changes we are being asked to make will have a relationship overtone due to the original conjunction (0 degrees) between Saturn and Pluto back on November 7, 1982 at 27/28 degrees Libra.

The original intent of this 33 year Saturn-Pluto cycle was to create new relationship realities based upon equality of giving and receiving. It asked us to get in touch with what is real in relationships and take it to deeper soul levels. It in many ways was a response to the "free" love of the 1960s which in reality didn't allow for foundations of trust to be created.

So here we are at the end of this century and this current Saturn-Pluto aspect is giving us opportunities to adjust how we relate to others. These relationship adjustments and compromises will have themes concerning: honesty and truth versus lies and deceit, different basic beliefs versus common ground, monogamy versus free love again, possessiveness versus self-reliance, and healthy sexuality versus addictive sexuality.

All this is setting the stage for the three Saturn oppositions to Pluto in late 2001 and early 2002. These oppositions will be in the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, Saturn in Gemini oppose Pluto in Sag. The equality in relationships, all relationships but especially intimate, will be a major issue that will go to the core of our souls' beliefs. So, how are you having to adjust to the relationship issues in your life? The danger is an unwillingness to compromise and an insistence on our way as right. The opposition aspect will ask us to see another's point of view and ask how can we incorporate it into our own. Our souls will be asked to face reality in many ways, especially in relationships.

Venus moves into Pisces for almost a month on March 13 and will release energy to love on the deepest levels possible. In Pisces this is love that can range from the extremes of martyrdom to the most unconditional giving. Venus in Pisces looks for the ideal and must watch projecting it onto others instead of just loving them as they are. At its best Piscean Venus loves unconditionally without losing itself. Feet on the ground striving for the ideal.

The next day, March 14, Mercury goes direct at 2/3 degrees Pisces. Whew, Mercury feels like it can breathe and think again. Only somehow, it is more intuitive, open to letting things flow mentally. Left brain can't quite block out right brain like it use to. We can now move forward with all those dilemmas we've pondered so deeply lately.

Except, Pluto the soul goes retrograde on March 15 at 12/13 Sagittarius. Like just how deep can our souls go this month? This is the beginning of an annual five month retrograde cycle for Pluto which operates pretty unconsciously for the vast majority of us. We usually only feel it when Pluto actually changes direction. Pluto retrograde is how souls rebel to throw off the past and evolve. In Sag it asks the soul to let go of old beliefs, to get to our personal truths instead of the conditioned beliefs we unconsciously let control us.

All of us individually are participating in that collective cycle to evolve our souls by searching for what each of us believes about everything in our life. And with the Sun in Pisces having made a waxing square to Pluto in Sag on March 2 at 12/13 degrees, we all face that crisis in moving forward with our beliefs and yet feeling stuck because we just aren't sure of what we do believe. Now if you think this subject of belief systems has lasted long enough skip down to the Pluto, Neptune and Uranus transits in the Long-Term Trends section below. These crises in what to believe and how to move forward from them will be around for awhile. It just gets magnified periodically like this month with Sun in Pisces.

So now we can look at yet one more aspect this month to intuit and create new personal beliefs for ourselves. Jupiter in Taurus makes a final waxing square to Neptune in Aquarius March 16 at 5/6 degrees. The other squares happened July 21, 1999 at 3/4 degrees and October 11, 1999 at 1/2 degrees. The two planets that deal with intuition and spirituality asking us to try and figure out how to move forward in creating direct personal relationships with God/Goddess that are real.

If at any time this month you feel confused about anything - ha, ha, remember, you are not alone. Maybe God/Goddess wants us to get to that point where we just throw up our hands and say OK, I give up. And low and behold the answer just somehow appears in our consciousness. That's the big lesson. Learning how to really let go and let God/Goddess. Learning how to really open up and relate to those larger forces of power and let answers come from there via our right-brain intuition.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. The Sun finally moves into Aries on March 19/20 but not before the Full Moon at 29/30 degrees Pisces-Virgo on March 19. May this Full Moon bring us the illumination we have been searching for this month. May we have awareness of all the old victimizing and victorizing ways in which we behave and may we let go of those old beliefs and behaviors.

The Sun moving into Aries represents the Vernal Equinox, the 1st day of Spring. Days are finally as long as nights in the Northern Hemisphere. Here in the Northern Plains we have a tendency to celebrate this season the most because winter and snow are on their way out, the daffodils are up and the crocus are blooming.

It really will seem like a breath of fresh air when the Sun passes into Aries. Finally, we can start moving forward again. Energy, initiative, movement. We've rebirthed ourselves. It is hard to sit still. The rest of the month will seem to fly by. We may feel like there is so much to do now that the energy has shifted.

Mars, the planet of consciously acting on the deep, unconscious desires of the soul, has been in Aries, the sign it rules all this month. However, its energy seemed to be constantly dampened by everything else saying wait, think about this before you act on it. Make the most of March 20 & 21 with Sun in early Aries and Mars just finishing up its transit through its own sign. Get things moving.

On March 22 Mars moves into Taurus and becomes the first of the inner planets to meet Jupiter and Saturn. Mars in Taurus can help us make that steady, determined effort to implement these new realities we are becoming aware of. It can show us what actions will create more self-reliance.

Mars in Taurus makes a first quarter square to Neptune in Aquarius at 11/12 degrees the last day of March. A crisis in how to act on our emerging new beliefs. Mars can use this energy to fine tune its actions. Mars leading the way for the inner planets in Taurus over the next few months can keep us moving steadily forward when Taurean energy always wants to create inertia in order to be secure.

May God/Goddess bless you in March!
