Monthly Forecast - May 2002

Relationships are all around us this month, from the most personal to our relationship with everyone and everything in this global village. Our ability to communicate our needs and desires in relationships will be addressed again and again.

Where are your relationships right now? What are the most important issues coming up for discussion? Make the time to talk, and just as importantly, to listen. We have a Mercury (the planet of communications) retrograde cycle the last half of the month in Gemini (the sign of communications) so here we go…talk, talk, talk.

Along with this, Venus and Mars meet in Gemini the first half of May asking us to be as flexible as possible in our evolving relationships. Just allow your relationships to grow and then changes again, and again, are we done yet?

The Sun is in Taurus however and the Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I create self-reliance with every metamorphosis. We’ve been working on this self-reliance thing so that we can go with the flow during all the changes coming up this month. There is a tendency to want things our own way. The lesson is to create such a depth of inner self-reliance that we can allow our outer world to change in whatever ways are necessary.

All these inner planets in Gemini give us an opportunity, with Sun in Taurus, to go to the next level of being able to take care of ourselves. Where is this happening for you? Can you connect in to realizing the Ultimate Source of everything will supply everything you need? Strive for an inner self-reliance, versus outer, so you can go with the flow.

The Sun makes a waxing square to Neptune on May 1st at 10/11 degrees Taurus-Aquarius. Here is a test to act upon our beliefs. We continually evolve as our beliefs evolve, and here we are conscious that our securities are facing limitations. Where is your belief system challenged to grow in order to show you the way beyond whatever limits you are facing?

Again, our ability to grow inwardly allows us to face whatever is in our outer world and metamorphose it. Neptune goes retrograde in two weeks and what to believe may be in a real crisis. We thought we had our world all neatly put together and now it seems our reality doesn’t match our beliefs. Will you limit your beliefs to fit your reality, or will you change your world as your beliefs evolve?

Also on May 1st the Sun makes a waning sextile to Jupiter at 11/12 degrees Taurus-Cancer. More information on those old realities we need to release. And, insight on the new directions coming ahead. This is another chance to let go of outer security and strive for more inner security.

Jupiter in Cancer has been teaching us who our real families are. We have been facing new truths about our family of origin, our families of community and our ultimate family - the entire planet. Any old patterns that do not fit into our growing sense of family can be easily released here. Go for it, open your arms wide enough to include as many people as possible in your family. The planet will be much safer when we do.

Sun waning sextile Jupiter in Taurus-Cancer can also bring us the message that our beliefs are not tied to a specific land/nation. Muslims and Jews can learn to live side-by-side just as any other two religions can. Pray for peace. Hold the Middle East in the energy of love to realize this.

Mars makes a bi-annual conjunction to Saturn on May 3/4 at 13/14 degrees Gemini. This is the initiation of a two-year cycle of new goals we would like to achieve to survive and succeed in the world. The message is to rebirth our ability to take care of ourselves and achieve our desires, and in Gemini, to each be allowed to do our own thing.

In today’s patriarchal world many do not have the freedom to achieve their desires. This Mars-Saturn conjunction can also be a desire to control others. Gemini faces the realization that there are many paths home. Lessor-evolved Mars-Saturn energy thinks “my way is the only way.”

Many times in the past this aspect has not been a pretty one. There is a lot of tension in the world these days and May is a month it comes to a head again. Pray for peace. Utilize all this Geminian energy to visualize peace in the blink of an eye. When enough of us really believe it can happen it will.

Are you going to be a part of the problem or a part of the solution? Your beliefs, thoughts, emotions and actions all play a part in what we will collectively create. May we all desire peace in the blink of an eye. Mars-Saturn can negotiate it in Gemini. Many of us are realizing wounded souls could easily destroy the planet. We can give in and energize the fear, or we can energize peace. What is your choice?

Personally, this is a time to set your new two-year goals based upon your evolving desires. What do you want to achieve right now? Go for it, visualize it, and call on Gemini to show you the changes to initiate achieving it. Then call on Gemini to think as if it is real whenever you doubt it. Inner attracts outer.

Venus makes a waxing trine to Neptune on May 4 at 10/11 degrees Gemini-Aquarius. Oh, we have lots of ideas on how to move forward in love. Neptune is almost stationed however, and is asking us to be patient and think some more about moving forward in this quest to love and be loved.

Let your intuition get involved. What are the little messages popping in about your next level of growth in relationships? Do not push the voice inside your head away. Listen to it and ask how you can work with the message… To ignore our intuition right now will only create a bigger situation later. Make an effort to move forward in love by talking and addressing the little things. Remember: talk it out all month long.

Next Venus makes an almost annual conjunction to Saturn at 14/15 degrees Gemini on May 7. Venus is playing catch-up to Mars and will soon overtake it. We are realizing and initiating our desires (Mars-Saturn). Now we must ask: how can we be self-reliant enough to achieve them?

Venus conjunct Saturn is about achieving an inner self-reliance that lets us take care of ourselves in every way necessary. We’re serious about these relationship issues we are facing right now. Gemini will sometimes avoid anything that it doesn’t want to talk about and fill space/time up with meaningless chatter. Find your courage to talk about the “tuff” stuff.

It is time for major conversations about your relationship goals and desires wherever you find yourself in relationships: beginnings, endings or rebirths. We all want our relationships to grow right now; can you listen as much as you want to speak?

The next day on May 8, Mars makes an opposition to Pluto retrograde at 17 degrees Gemini-Sagittarius. A classic power play, individually and collectively. This can be explosive energy. Whatever has been below the surface is busting out. Many scenarios can take place.

Here is the awareness of our deepest desires brought to the light of day. This is a “full moon” or reward aspect. We can be achieving our desires or have things exploding in our face if we have not been honest about our soul’s desires. What do you want? Are you manifesting it?

Where are power struggles happening for you? Can you see the message for a deeper self-reliance again? What limitations must you metamorphose? There is a need to share equally with others, including the power, are you?

Relationship power plays come up at this time. We have been becoming aware of our desires, needs and goals in our relationships. Are your stuck in wanting things your way, or is there a compromise? Can you face your limitations in relationships and grow from them?

Collectively this is also explosive energy. Each country wants their desires to be on top. Pray for peace, and visualize countries understanding and accepting their differences. Visualize countries sharing the power, and each utilizing the resources they can bring to the collective whole.

We are moving into the third and final Saturn-Pluto opposition the end of May and Mars, Venus and Mercury act as triggers. Facing reality is upon all of us, individually and collectively. This will be another month to realize yet again we will only survive as well as the least of us survive. How are you going to participate?

The next day on May 9 Venus makes an opposition to Pluto retro at 17 degrees Gemini-Sag. It will feel like one big relationship buildup. Are you self-reliant? Here is where you can find out. Where are you needing equal giving and receiving in love?

Venus-Pluto is the ultimate in facing our relationship insecurities. Anywhere we are controlling or manipulating others comes to the light of day now. Can you take care of yourself and your own needs so as to minimize what you expect from another? This is the healthiest relating pattern.

When we each learn how to supply our own needs and desires then we are free to give, or not give, to another as is best for all concerned. We find that we can freely give to another what they really desire when we have no expectations back. The ultimate Venus-Pluto synergy is unconditional love on the deepest levels possible. Can you love yourself enough to love another even if they want to be free?

This is the month to reexamine all your “I will love you if…” Love yourself the way you want another to love you.

Then Venus and Mars move right over the North Node (of the Moon) on May 10 at 18/19 degrees Gemini. A chance to initiate new relationship growth. The North Node is our evolving emotional future. It is a way for our souls to move forward at any point in time. It is the emotional quest where we have not been before.

What is happening for you in your relationships yet again? What new emotional steps are you wishing to take? Gemini again asks us to talk about it and talk about it. Venus asks us to listen as well, and Mars asks us to walk our talk.

Are you moving forward on your own as the next best step? Are you initiating a new relationship? Are you metamorphosing a current one? The possibilities are endless. Remaining stuck in your relationship rut is impossible. Pluto and Saturn are not giving us any choice but to grow and evolve our relationship situations.

That same day, May 10, Venus makes a conjunction to Mars at 18/19 degrees Gemini. How many times can you initiate new relationship growth? Does it ever end? Here is a Gemini experiment: how many times can you state “I love you” (and mean it!) to how many people? This is the month to do it.

And, can you listen to another state “I love you?” What comes up for you? Can you accept another’s love? Do you want to be loved with conditions? Again, can you love yourself the way that you want another to love you?

Can you stand in front of the bathroom mirror and state “I love you, I love you, I love you!?” This is the month to practice it until you see your reflection in a window walking down the street and you automatically feel a sense of deep love for yourself. How can another love you until you love yourself? How can you love another if you do not love yourself?

Can you find the love of God/Goddess within? How much love can you let in? What if we all loved ourselves so much all we could feel for another is love? What a Geminian switch from the current unconscious collective attitude that our Creator lies outside of us!

The beauty of Gemini is the ability to switch our mental energy in the blink of an eye. Practice thinking a loving thought about yourself and others and the world every time you think anything less. Utilize that left brain! Reprogram, reprogram.

The New Moon of Taurus is May 12 at 21/22 degrees. Our annual time to rebirth our self-reliance. Here is the opportunity to emotionally realize that we can take care of our self in every way. We are all faced with survival on many levels in today’s world: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Take the time to visualize all creatures on the planet surviving and living in harmony with nature.

Then on May 13 Neptune goes retrograde at 10/11 degrees Aquarius. This is the beginning of a five-month review of our beliefs and our relationship to God/Goddess on the deepest levels. Neptune in Aquarius helps us decondition any false beliefs, so here is another level to be revealed.

Patriarchal conditioning over the last 4-5,000 years has us believing in a perfect male god who judges us for our imperfections. This is the opposite of natural, spiritual laws and principles that teach us the Universal Source is God/Goddess, the Universal Source is within us and, the Universal Source is an Evolving Force. So, where have you bought in to the judgments of an outside source? What does the voice of truth from inside say?

Where are you facing disappointments right now? Neptune ultimately dissolves whatever is not of spirit. It is common for us to feel disillusioned and disappointed when Neptune goes retro. It is hard to touch in to the Source on deep levels. Most of us find God/Goddess by eliminating what it is not.

How are your depressed moments revealing where you are clinging to an old belief about Source? We need to face bummed-out times as a natural part of life that gets us in touch with where we have bought in to a false illusion about God/Goddess. Where is the opportunity to evolve your beliefs? What new relationship would you like to develop with the Universal Source over the next five months?

Then Mercury goes retrograde for three weeks on May 15 at 9/10 degrees Gemini. This is one of the signs Mercury rules. Mercury is the left-brain and conscious mind, and how we classify everything in life to make sense. Mercury retrograde in Gemini is asking us to review the details in our lives.

We may feel like we’re in overload as we try to handle so many things. Mercury retro asks us to release the thought patterns that no longer work for us. We may feel like a broken record with the same scenario running through our minds again and again. What is bothering you right now? What needs to be released in your thinking process?

We need to keep the Sagittarian big picture in mind during this Mercury retrograde cycle. We can literally get lost in the details. Focus on the essence and let go of the old ways of looking at things. Pay attention to the repeated new messages coming in. Set aside time to talk and talk and talk.

On May 16 Jupiter makes a waxing sesquiquadrate to Uranus at 13/14 degrees Cancer - 28/29 degrees Aquarius. We may be feeling very insecure with the changes taking place in the world today. We want to believe that here in the US we are safe from the dangers we watch on TV. We are not safe. It is only a matter of time before suicide bombers happen on our own street corners, unless, we learn to relate differently to the rest of the world.

The US cannot impose its desires on to everyone else without consequences. We are being given an opportunity to be a part of the global community not the village bully. All through the month tension builds again over who is going to impose they’re way upon another.

We are also asked to make adjustments in our relationships. This Jupiter-Uranus aspect is bringing up the insights where we can make personal changes. What are your mirrors reflecting back to you? What is coming up with all this Geminian conversation? Can you get your ego out of the way in order to see what is best for all concerned? Intuition is coming through, pay attention.

Venus makes a waxing trine to Uranus on May 19 at 28/29 degrees Gemini-Aquarius. The relationship insights just keep on happening. We can make some beautiful changes if we are open to the flow. We can also resist and stay stuck in the same rut. Do you love yourself enough to take your next relationship step regardless of what it is?

The Sun makes a waxing square to Uranus the same day at 28-29 degrees Taurus-Aquarius. Surprises may happen if we have been resisting our changes this month. We battle between security and growth.

We are almost finished with the Sun’s annual passage through Taurus. A new sense of self-reliance and inner security is now possible. Life has been expanding tremendously over the last few years, and now we can take another leap of growth. Where is this happening for you? What leaps are your relationships making?

Venus enters Cancer for almost four weeks on May 20. We have had so many changes in love. Now Venus wants to find security again. The lesson for Venus in Cancer is to find the emotional security within. Watch for any reactions here. We have been changing and growing so much in our relating patterns that Venus in Cancer is feeling insecure about it all.

Cancer teaches emotional self-reliance. We are each responsible for our self no matter what. Whenever the insecurities come up, ask where you are looking for the answers outside of yourself. Venus continually teaches us how to love ourselves better. How can you?

Can you put your arms around the world and love everyone in it as well?

The Sun enters Gemini on May 20. The Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I gather information with intuitive searching. Now the Sun joins the Geminian march. How open are you? This is the annual time to move out into our environments searching and growing. Our foundation is in movement itself.

Gather the info, and then let it soak until answers come through. Repeat the process again as we have been doing all month. Evolution takes place one way or another, and the energy is definitely asking us to let go of control and just go with the flow. Where are you mentally resisting? What mental changes can you make? Mercury retro is making sure we do not forget anything, and helping us release the mental overload and fluff.

The third and final Saturn opposition to Pluto (retrograde) is on May 25 at 16/17 degrees Gemini-Sagittarius. The first opposition was last August. For a year now we have been learning to look at life differently. Whenever we are not facing reality, Saturn-Pluto comes along and gives us no choice.

May will be a month to focus on where we are going as a global community. As tension continues to rise again the collective consciousness is being forced to realize what happens to one happens to all. We cannot ignore what is taking place around the rest of the world.

Gemini-Sagittarius energy is also stirring things up with the air that we breathe. Bio-warfare is alive and well. This Saturn-Pluto opposition may bring the reality that human-made airborne germs are everywhere, we just do not realize it yet.

Gemini and Sag teach us the lessons of truth and lies. We will each continue to realize wherever the lies in our lives exist: within ourselves and with others. May enough of us realize how much our world leaders play games with us, releasing only enough information to color the story the way they want us to see it. Can you see the truth through the barrage of details? May the information they withhold from us be made known.

The end of May and this last Saturn-Pluto retro opposition give us the opportunity to really quest for truth on the deepest levels. One of the examples in today’s headlines is the Catholic church sexual abuse scandal. Sexuality is a part of natural law. Sexuality is the most sacred act there is. Our lack of treating it as sacred has created most of the modern societal problems we have.

For the last 7-8,000 years on the planet we have been progressively repressing sexuality until it was formalized with human-made religions. Anything repressed becomes distorted and is then released in unnatural ways. To enforce celibacy on a human being when it is not natural creates priests molesting children. Can you see the truth in this? Gemini-Sagittarius brings up the lies.

Will the Catholic church learn the lesson and face the truth of sexuality as a natural part of life for humans, or continue the lie into the future? Sexuality is natural for the vast majority of us. It is one of the last separating desires we release. Only about two percent of the souls on the planet have naturally released this desire.

What if we embraced and searched for healthy sexuality on the planet? Do you think we would continue to rape and war? What if we learned to really make love again versus war?

This Saturn-Pluto opposition gives us a chance to face the truth in every area of our lives. How well can you really open up to what you do not want to see or hear? What is the largest circle of truth you can embrace? This is the month to find out. May you face your new realities with openness and willingness to grow and evolve.

The Full Moon of Sagittarius is the next day on May 26 at 5/6 degrees Gemini-Sag, and it is a Lunar Eclipse. Sometimes it may feel as if our heads are going to explode with all the tension of information and shocking truths coming out. This is the annual time to let our intuition guide us through all the details. Here is another quest for the truth.

Pray for peace. Think peace. Visualize peace. Feeeeeeel peace. The planet is ready to explode from the lies we have blindly believed. We are so far removed from natural, spiritual laws and principles. Find the largest picture of personal truth you can embrace and then walk your talk. Live the truth to help heal Gaia. Emotionally embrace all the wounded souls you encounter. This is a way to release the tension so close to the surface for everyone.

Mars makes a waxing trine to Uranus on May 26 as well at 28/29 degrees Gemini-Aquarius. Uranus is coming to a standstill as well in order to begin its retrograde cycle on June 2. Whatever needs to be released to decondition on the planet will be coming out. In today’s world this aspect may easily mean countries being very sneaky and aggressive with each other. May enough of us hold this beautiful place in healing energy and love.

Mars makes aspects to Saturn, Pluto retrograde and Uranus in May. These planets do not bring out the best in lessor-evolved souls. May we individually empower ourselves to teach and share with others what is really going on. The desire to separate from the Source is raging war. Call upon your desire to return to the Source and visualize the planet in loving harmony all over every time fear touches you. Create peace with those in your lives. Individual peace creates collective peace.

Mercury retrogrades back over the Sun on May 27 at 5/6 degrees Gemini. This is the inferior conjunction of the retrograde cycle and the time for answers. Here is a moment for meditation and prayer. Search for your own intuitive understandings through all the information that has bombarded you this month.

What are the best ways for you to move forward? What relationship changes are now upon you in every area: personal, family, work, and collectively? Where are your own lies being revealed? Your answers are there if you are willing to open up to them. God/Goddess sends a messenger in everyone you speak to, so listen…..

Mars enters Cancer on May 28 for a 7 week journey. How open we have been during Mar’s passage in Gemini, leads into its Cancerian lessons. Mars is not comfortable here. Mars like fire and action, not security, and especially not emotional security.

Mars in Cancer must slow down and consider its effects on others. This may be controlling and manipulating others, especially emotionally. This may be countries fighting with each other to protect their turf. Our emotions can push buttons here.

However even Mars must learn to cool its jets once-in-a-while. Now is the time. Mars joins Venus in Cancer and they now lead the personal planets on an emotional healing journey. The search for inner emotional security begins again. The more emotionally secure and peaceful we are the easier our life and world are.

Do your emotional work. Anywhere you feel emotionally frustrated is an opportunity for you to love yourself better. As you learn to do so Mars in Cancer begins to make love not war.

Finally Jupiter makes a waning inconjunct to Pluto retrograde on May 31 at 16/17 degrees Cancer-Sagittarius. The rest of the world is going to let us know they do not agree with our version of the truth. We are all asked to consider another’s needs for survival and security.

There have been a lot of conversations this month. We are beginning to understand what another person’s, and countries’ worlds, are like. Can we find the compromise where we can all have our needs and desires honored? Can you make an effort to understand a different universe than your own? Can you find the common ground?

Is there room for relationship compromises? Is always being right more important than the relationship? Mercury is still retro in Gemini and the Sun is just beginning its passage through Gemini. The conversations continue.

The quest is to create a global village where we can all have our beliefs and values honored. May we be successful. We are all related. May we move in to the Aquarian Age of unity in diversity.
