Monthly Forecast - September 2002
The transference from self to others has begun again. September brings the inner planets transiting Virgo, Libra and
Scorpio. How we relate to others is up for metamorphosis. Where are you at in your relationships?
Major social changes are upon us all winter as well. Jupiter and Saturn do their retrograde dances with Uranus, Neptune
and Pluto. The global village has a chance to move forward or to continue to lay blame on someone else.
Jupiter in Leo makes three oppositions to Neptune in Aquarius and three waning trines to Pluto in Sagittarius over the
next year. And, Saturn in Gemini/Cancer makes two more waxing trines to Uranus in Aquarius/Pisces.
Community relationships will come to the front pages again. Who is the biggest bully? Who can make the greatest effort
to create unity in diversity, the hope of the coming Aquarian Age?
The US headlines are offering another bully story – a fight with Saddam Hussein and Iraq. Are we falling for it? The
social planets’ (Jupiter and Saturn) trines to the outer planets (Uranus and Pluto) wants to suggest the world would be
so much better with another war. A trine aspect can pull off a con job a lot better than squares and oppositions.
Conservative estimates of war on Iraq start at $130 billion. No one else is offering to help pay for it, quite the
opposite in fact. Where is the US going to find $130 billion, from your pocket? What could we do in our own country
with that kind of investment, perhaps in education or infrastructure? What if we invested $130 billion in helping third
world countries improve their standard of living?
Can we really march into another country, take out its leader, destroy the land, and think we will have more world peace?
Bless the Jupiter-Neptune oppositions to help us see what could really happen. We could spend the next year creating a
mess that might make what we spend on security today look like peanuts. The first Jupiter-Neptune opposition in
Leo-Aquarius occurs September 11, 2002.
Have enough souls evolved yet to realize that almost 8,000 years of war hasn’t created peace? What if all the money spent
on weapons and war in the world was spent on shelter, education and food? Is it so difficult to imagine? How many healthy,
happy people go off and actually physically fight in wars?
What are you going to do? Resign yourself to the fact that fighting is “natural” and just the way it is?
Each of us does make a difference to the whole. There is a wave of evolving souls who are realizing that where we put our
emotional energy makes the difference in manifestation. The body-mind-spirit connection is remembering the heart. We can
say our affirmations until we are blue in the face; however, what we choose to feel is what we will create.
Feeeeel peace in the world, be peace in your world. A lot easier said than done. Truth is simple though. You can reflect
on your own personal relationships. What can you do to heal yourself, your family, and your community?
How much energy do you expend each day to sit quietly and really feel peace upon the planet? What if we all found time
every day? Remember, in quantum physics you are an inseparable part of the wave.
Sun is in Virgo and the Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I discern with intuitive wholeness. Patriarchal conditioning
has created Virgo energy to be full of the victim and the victor. Natural Virgo energy is some of the most healing energy
of the zodiac. What is your choice: to heal or destroy and martyr?
The Sun’s annual passage through Virgo is a time to heal the wounds of the ending Piscean Age. It is a time to understand
that natural spiritual laws and principles relate to an Evolving Force that is on a grand evolutionary experiment from the
least-evolved to the most-evolved beings. A wave of separation and a wave of return, more evolved.
In the desire to separate from that which created us we have bought into the illusion of separation from the Source.
Eventually we exhaust the separating desires until the desire to know and return to that which created us becomes the
stronger, and finally, the only desire left.
Virgoian energy can teach us that the tools that separate us from the Source are also the same tools that can help return
us to the Source. Evolution takes place through the senses, through the emotional body, naturally exhausting the
separating, outer, material desires.
Let go of patriarchal judgments. Life is choices and experiences. Discern a better choice from each and every experience.
You can continue to judge and beat yourself up, and most likely stay stuck in a separating pattern. Or, you can acknowledge
your imperfection, and desire to grow, and choose another evolving experience.
Personally and collectively, we grow from acceptance and inclusiveness versus rejection and exclusion. This is a solar
month (Virgo) to work on healing (Virgo) your relationships (Libra) so that you may find equality of giving and receiving
(Libra).
Mercury makes the first of three waxing sextiles to Jupiter on September 2 at 6/7 degrees Libra-Leo. Mercury continues to
lay the ground for its retrograde cycle in Libra this month. This is a time to expand those communications with others.
Everyone has their own idea on what should be happening in life and relationships.
Talk, listen, talk, listen. Really listen so that you can respond to what is really going on. What is triggering you right
now in your relating patterns? You are going to have this whole month and part of the next to work on it.
Venus makes a waning trine to Uranus retro at 26/27 degrees Libra-Aquarius on September 3. Here is some enlightenment to
our evolving relationship lessons. Uranus loves to bring things to the surface, and this is one of its easier interactions. Let whatever wants to be made known come up and Venus can ponder it.
Venus will have its own retro cycle in Scorpio next month in which to figure out the next level of relationship decisions
and choices.
Mercury also makes the first of three waning trines to Neptune retrograde on September 4 at 8/9 degrees Libra-Aquarius. We
are going to spend the next couple of months with others trying to convince us to think and do things their way, personally
and collectively.
Pay attention to your truth antennas. See if you can discern who is speaking the truth and who is lying. Chances are this
next Mercury retrograde cycle will bring out the lies if you walk your own talk. The stage for it is set here anyway.
Watch for community leaders making their claims the beginning of the month. Do you pick up on truth or lies?
Then Venus makes a waxing trine to Saturn on September 5 at 27/28 degrees Libra-Gemini. An opportunity to lay real
groundwork in our evolving relationships. Venus is tapping into the Saturn waxing trines to Uranus this next year, making
a grand trine with the two of them. We can have major realizations about our relating patterns and realities the beginning
of September.
Remember Venus is about self-reliance. If the ideas coming forth are based upon being self-responsible for our own needs
then they will be fine-tuned during Venus’ retro cycle. If we are just bringing up another cycle of co-dependency then
Venus retro will require some adjustments. The feel-good trine energy will not last if it is not based upon reality and
growth.
Our New Moon of Virgo is September 6 at 14/15 degrees Virgo. This is an annual time for intuitive discernment. What are
the new beginnings in self-improvement you would like to make at this time? How can you really love yourself better, day
by day?
Virgo is so caught up in criticism due to patriarchal conditioning that loving and healing cannot be emphasized enough
during Virgo’s energetic heights. Here is an annual time to forgive yourself of whatever and rebirth a fresh, new start.
Think of Virgo as learning anything new. You get to practice and practice and practice until you get it. What is it you
desire to implement and practice this New Moon?
The Sun makes it annual waning square to Pluto at 14/15 degrees Virgo-Sag on September 7. Let go of old beliefs that keep
you victimized. Let go of old beliefs that you must take advantage of another to succeed. Let go of whatever keeps you
from loving yourself. There is tension to let go of old compulsions and obsessions. Let go of your illusions of separation
from the Source. We are all one.
Venus enters Scorpio September 7 for a little over four months with its retrograde cycle there in October-November. Venus
requires some relationship decisions here. Libra likes to weigh everything back and forth. Scorpio demands a choice.
This is also the beginning of Venus’ shadow into its retro cycle. Venus will turn direct at 0 degrees Scorpio
mid-November. Venus and Mars have the rarest retro cycles, every eighteen/nineteen months and two years respectively.
Here is the ascent into learning to love ourselves better.
Scorpio is about evolving our co-dependencies with anyone and anything. Scorpio energy asks us to merge with
whoever/whatever is more powerful or evolved than us, and through osmosis, evolve into that which we merged with. The
secret is to then separate to become more evolved ourselves.
So Venus enters Scorpio to show us where we need to overcome our next level of co-dependency. Most likely this will involve
relationships of some sorts. At its best Scorpio creates the bonding of soul mates. At its worst Scorpio is obsession.
Where are you at?
Where are you obsessed in your relationships? What is the next lesson of self-reliance for you? Taurus is the opposite of
Scorpio and ruled by Venus. Taurus is all about self-reliance on every level. So wherever we are co-dependent is going to
be revealed to us over the next few months.
Then on September 11 Jupiter makes the first of three oppositions to Neptune retrograde at 8/9 degrees Leo-Aquarius. The
essence of this aspect in Leo-Aquarius is revealing spiritual truth. In lessor-evolved souls this can manifest as wanting
to convert someone to our own beliefs.
Jupiter is about our intuition, the right brain and personal belief systems. Neptune is the collective
consciousness/unconsciousness or God/Goddess on its deepest levels. The lower and higher octaves of our beliefs are
opposing each other. Will deeper truth be revealed, or another layer of lies?
On the first anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist event, this time period could be quite emotional, and an opportune time
to advance a belief system of war, war, war. Expect US leaders to use this aspect and anniversary to promote terrorist
revenge, so what if it is moving on to another country. This opposition can be a game to see who gets their way.
This is the first of three Jupiter-Neptune oppositions. The other two occur February 16, 2003 at 11/12 degrees
Leo-Aquarius (Jupiter in Leo retro) and June 2, 2003 at 13/14 degrees Leo-Aquarius (Neptune in Aquarius retro).
Personally, we can quest for a deeper level of truth to be revealed within us. Where is another illusion of separation
from the Source being stripped away? How can you align your will (Jupiter in Leo) with divine will (Neptune in Aquarius)?
These oppositions over the next year can bring inspirations from the Source. We can bring on another level of creativity
in many areas. With Jupiter moving into Leo we all have creative ideas we would like to manifest. Ask for the Ultimate
Creativity to come through you. Watch for messages of deluding yourself.
Throughout this coming fall, winter and spring people may challenge your beliefs and ideas about yourself. Can you listen?
Can you look outside your limitations and expand your world?
If you find yourself facing major disappointments and/or delusions, then the Jupiter-Neptune oppositions are messages to
realign the beliefs that led to these letdowns. Where are you painting your own picture of God/Goddess instead of facing
reality?
We can receive beautiful messages from the Source this winter. We can face ultimate betrayals. Our specific circumstances
will be a reflection of our beliefs. Inner attracts outer. The question to ask all winter is: “How can I see a larger
picture of truth?”
A few days later on Sept 14 Mercury goes stationary retrograde to begin another retro cycle, this time at 13/14 degrees
Libra. We have been noticing our relationships seem to be taking up more of our time. What is here to be worked out?
Mercury likes to retrograde in air signs. It is comfortable here stirring up all kinds of things, mostly miscommunications,
which can help us learn to speak more clearly. As Libra synchronizes with the psychology of listening, the message to be
quiet and pay attention is strong here.
We are not lacking for wanting speak our thoughts. Can you listen as much as you want to talk? There are lessons of
equality here in some way. Venus in Scorpio follows Mercury with its own retrograde cycle this fall, so relationships are
coming to the forefront again.
What is building up in your relating patterns and situations? Is it time for a new beginning? Is an ending around the
corner? Is there a possibility of rebirthing your relationship through the next few months? The choices are yours.
Again, let go of judgement, can you create a better experience?
Patriarchal conditioning over the last few thousands of years has the vast majority of us giving our power away somehow.
We have been conditioned that “god” lies outside of us, and therefore all our happiness. We look for love on the outside.
Mercury retro in Libra points to Aries and our self. What are the messages coming through in loving yourself better?
Where do you find inequality in your life? Are you on the selfish end or the selfless end? Which way does your pendulum
need to move? Libra is about discerning who to be with and who to not be with. Your choices are on the horizon and in
your face. Make them.
Venus makes the first of three waning squares to Neptune retro on September 19 at 8/9 degrees Scorpio-Aquarius. Venus will
also make three waxing squares to Jupiter during it retro cycle. So there are some personal love messages this fall in this
quest for truth.
Ultimately, our partners are reflections of what we perceive to be lacking within ourselves. The attraction is to become
that which we are not. For most of us this operates on mostly unconscious levels. Facing our next level of growth is not
always easy. It is easier to see it in our partners and what they need to change. Can you do for yourself what you want
your partner to do for you?
Venus waning square Neptune means facing our disappointments in love. Three times we will have this aspect over the next
four months. This one sets the stage. What is lacking in your partnerships? Can you love yourself that way? Or, are you
stuck projecting it onto another? What old love beliefs need to be released? We may find emotional betrayals here is we
are not facing reality.
Ultimately, our partners are our reflections of God/Goddess. Do you find the sacred in your partner? Do you make them
responsible for your happiness? Are you responsible for their happiness? What is the next level of self-reliance in your
relationship these days? May you love yourself the way you would like your partner to love you.
The Full Moon of Pisces is September 21 at 28/29 degrees Virgo-Pisces. This is the annual time to remember we emotionally
create our reality. Here is where we can see the whole big picture. At the end of Sun in Virgo, this Full Moon is an
opportunity to unconditionally forgive ourselves and love ourselves completely, freckles and all.
You are your best friend. Do you treat yourself that way?
Mercury retro makes the second of three waxing sextiles to Jupiter at 10/11 degrees Libra-Leo on September 21. The
communications are going strong here again. We are getting ideas on how to work things out. Mercury relates to the left
brain and Jupiter to the right brain. All winter there is an emphasis on intuition. Let your self imagine things, and
then test it out.
The Sun makes a waxing square to Saturn on September 21 at 28/29 degrees Virgo-Gemini as well. A crisis in moving forward
with reality. We may tend to be a little paralyzed with all these relationships and communications changes. At the end of
Sun in Virgo we are being asked to step out in some way.
One of Virgo’s messages is to put one foot in front of the other and continue onward, step-by-step. How are you asked to
move forward in your life at this moment? Go ahead, Mercury will help you change your mind if it is not right. Remember,
life is choices and experiences and we get as many chances and choices as we need until we do get it right.
Mars then follows with a waning square to Pluto on September 22 at 15/16 degrees Virgo-Sag. This is our only Mars aspect
this month and it is a fairly powerful one for Mars. Mars is the conscious desires of the soul while Pluto represents the
soul itself and its mostly unconscious desires.
Whenever Mars interacts with Pluto we become more conscious of our desires. Here at a waning square we are asked to let go
of old the desires that no longer work for us. On the heels of Sun waxing square Saturn, it is letting go of the old in
some way so that we can move forward. This may have a relationship theme again. What are you being asked to release at
this time? How are you being asked to move forward?
Sun enters Libra on September 22/23 as well. The Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I balance a diversity of relationships
with my own initiative. The solar power now insists we take our relationships to the next level over the next month.
This is the Fall Equinox. Day and night are equal. Nature asks us to balance our self with others. It is a fine line,
moving moment to moment. Some of us have a tendency to exist on the more selfish end, and others of us on the selfless
end. Either way we get to grow and balance over the next month.
There is no denying our relationships situations now. Might as well get your tongues and ears ready. It is time to talk,
and listen. And talk, and listen. Remember, evolution takes place through the emotional body. What are you feeling right
now? Let your emotions be your guide through these relationship lessons.
Make your efforts to communicate and change. And, then touch base with your own emotions. How do you feel about the
relationship step you have just taken? If it does not feel good, say no, and change again. With Sun in Libra we must
remember that we can only love others to the degree that we can love ourselves. How can you love your self better?
Mercury retro makes the second of three waning trines to Neptune retro on September 23 at 8/9 degrees Libra-Aquarius. This
is a chance for the messages from on high to come in. Are you listening???? If we are really feeling hurt right now there
is a possibility of slipping into deeper disillusions. It will only make a bigger bubble bursting later on.
Ask for your relationship truths to be revealed right now. Ask your partners, in love, work, friendship, etc, to speak up
and let you know what is going on for them. Communications can really get to the bottom of things here if we are focused
on giving and receiving truth.
Next Venus makes the first of three waxing squares to Jupiter at 10/11 degrees Scorpio-Leo on September 24. Here again we
are asked to move forward in our relationships. This is a reflection of our evolving beliefs about how to be in
relationships, and how to relate to others.
This first square is more of an awareness of what is lacking in our relationships, and how they are not moving forward.
Again, a setting of the stage is taking place for what needs to grow within us and around us over the rest of the calendar
year.
This is a time for intuitive ah ha’s about the directions in which we would like to grow with others. These Mercury and
Venus retro cycles are more then just personal intimate relationships. These cycles are broad enough to include all our
relationships. Take the time this month and next to discern where you need to create equal giving and receiving.
Quest for honesty. Most of our relationship problems can be sourced to dishonesty, with ourselves first, and then with
others. Speak your truth. Ask for truth to come back to you.
Finally Mercury retro makes an inferior conjunction to the Sun on September 27 at 4/5 degrees Libra. Here are some mental
answers to our relationship issues. When Mercury retro passes backwards over the Sun, we begin to receive the messages of
what this communications growth cycle is all about.
This is the time of the year to focus upon improving our relationships. There is opportunity at the end of this month to
finally realize what others have been trying to tell us. And, now it seems like everyone else in our life is finally
hearing what we are saying. Find the space and time for those with whom you need to grow.
The Jupiter and Saturn dances with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are constant for almost the next twelve months. Remember
these themes:
Jupiter opposite Neptune - quest for deeper levels of truth, ask for divine creativity through you.
Jupiter waning trine Pluto – let universal abundance merge with the desires of your soul, walk your talk, accept the fruits
of your labors.
Saturn waxing trine Uranus - strive for reality inclusive of others, let your unconsciousness into your life, build your
foundations in society.
These five outer planets will feel like a quickening over the next year. Be the example you would like the rest of the
world to be. Be peace.
